Let’s rephrase that ... ladies and gentlemen your Portland Timbers. Offering coaches from local clubs, with teams already in season, jobs they can’t keep coaches in. I get Timbers don’t care, just more of the same.

Pretty crappy of Connor to take it imho, but I guess he thinks it’s an opportunity to good to pass up. Hope he did his homework.

Of course it's an opportunity too good to pass up. What, you think a Clackamas County youth club is an equivalent gig?

Were I OPFC, I'd be more annoyed if one of their staff coaches moved mid-season to a competing youth club. But the proper response in this case is "congratulations!".

(And spare me the crocodile tears about leaving mid-season, what about the kids, etc.. It's employment at will; OPFC could fire him at any time. Replacing coaches who leave, for whatever reason, is part of running a soccer club.)

Part Time, after school soccer enthusiasts are a plenty in the metro area, most drift to local non profit clubs as coaches.

Next up in the transfer market, the the timbers army capo becomes the T2 coach.

This stuff is beyond fiction, keep portland irrelevant I say.

                Silence is golden.

Nobody at OPFC was upset about the departure. Seriously, you are a tool and uninformed.

Why doesn't the Timbers Academy hire alliance coaches for these roles?

It's a far better gig at Westside, Eastside & Washington Timbers, vs soon to be eliminated TA pools of disassociation youngers.

Why is that? Would think the MLS association and talent they can attract would be attractive to coaches.

That's what they always say when a coach leaves.

"Him? He won't be missed. Why, we're happy he's gone. Good riddance."

                            (pause).

"You know what? I'm not supposed to tell you this, but he was sacked. Fired. CANNED. Escorted out of the DoC's office by security. If he ever shows his face at our training ground again, he'll be arrested for trespassing! I'm surprised he hasn't been arrested yet, actually!"

                              Bingo!

Clubs are Always trying to cover their tracks to keep their money coming in.

Maybe this guy wants the challenge of having all eyes on him coach a new team that everyone hates and is jealous of. Much better gig than a local club for spoiled white kids
