I can't seem to find any content on twitter or facebook regarding last weekend's showing at the showcase in FL.

U14 Dad is still going strong defending the club's honor as his daughter is on the special track to the Women's National team.

For the all of the bluster and hot air from the Oakwood crowd, this is now the second national event in a row where the OW girl's teams are utterly embarrassed by their competition.

Daddy coaches who give unearned playing time to their own kids never learn to really manage a proper team. That, plus, GDA is collecting JV players at best and a bunch of rec players. It's a hot mess.

so what exactly would make you happy? OW should go undefeated and be #1 in the country? We beat everyone in the region? US Soccer calls you directly and apologizes for creating GDA and says "gee couch dad, do you have any advice you can give us since we are all so uneducated and clearly you know the most about soccer?". Please enlighten us almighty couch potato. I got a news flash you putz, it's Connecticut. It's a tiny State with a tiny player pool. You seem so desperate to berate OW that your jealousy is ridiculously apparent. Go back to sitting on the sidelines and criticizing your daughter's coach, club, other parents, etc. You're an insult to the CT soccer community. Nationally, you're just ranked as an idiot.

I wouldn't call it catastrophic, let's keep it in perspective. Believe it or not some teams did even worse, I mean huge blowouts. But it was certainly not good, not good at all.

Like people were telling U14 dad before the event, the national competition is a real bit*ch slap to OW. Meaningless blowout games against weak NE competition does not make you a quality team. Some of it isn't OW's fault - the NE blows at this point. Only Fury did very well, NEFC ok, even NYCFC had a mixed performance after being so strong last year. Then there's OW coaching - same as it ever was, same as it ever was....

Oakwood and NEFC should beg to get into the ECNL. They will get stronger teams as players that want to play high school will stay at Oakwood. The DA is dead. Albertson Fury was bottom of the ECNL and now doing well in DA.
