You are right, because every coach is only out to play the weakest competition possible. Tool.

It must be the right level to win and get MaxPrep points to make it into the region playoffs.

The high school coaches are going to band together and not schedule to play high schools who allow GDA players to pop onto their teams after the holidays or they will be sure to schedule the games at the beginning of the season when their is no chance of GDA players showing up to play.
lol HS coaches banding together. It's not going to happen. The only group with any authority to end the practice is the clubs and USSF.

GDA will fold in Florida after another season and ECNL will continue to grow and expand. More girls will be leaving GDA at the end of this year to play ECNL and HS soccer next season. Girls want to play HS soccer and GDA has no plans of allowing HS Soccer.

The MA and CT boards are also lamenting how terrible it is there. Rumors that two better clubs might leave an already weak region.

This is an interesting article that somewhat goes along with what you are saying......

There is no right way that will be for everybody, but what Foudy says at least on a general level makes complete sense. Practicing and playing 5 or 6 days a week. Not saying you can't be on the ball that many days, but it is different when you have to be somewhere at certain time adding in long commutes for some. Also every data from physical or psychological level shows kids benefit from playing more than one sport. Kind of hard to do in a 10 month season with practice 4 or 5 nights a week.

I think Foudy really nailed it about creating or keeping the joy to play. Also the importance of being on the team and being a good teammate. Not just the DA, but especially so because it is sold on the individual development. Your team is just the stepping stool needed.

That is partially because HS soccer is still very high quality in MA, CT and NY. In those states, kids still get recruited to college based on HS ball. College coaches still attend some of those HS games.

Agreed. My 2001 daughter's incoming freshman recruiting group (next Fall) includes a girl that got a nice sholarship and only played H.S. soccer in NY. Granted, she was all-state on a team than won the state championship and was valedictorian but she didn't play any club soccer. She was recruited based on her H.S. play. And the college they will be attending has a top program.

But not enough quality players want to give up high school to play GDA. They built a league that is much greater in size than demand. Just because you build it doesn't mean they will come. Ussf assumed they would.

Not sure on the folding of GDA but you're right on ECNL. ECNL will continue to grow and get high level players. Heck even look at boys ECNL and how quick that has grown. More and more players are moving to ECNL, girls and boys.

GDA will never be the top league in Florida, ECNL is the top league. FSPL is stronger than GDA in Florida. GDA might not fold, but it will be comprised of 2nd and 3rd tier players as it is a money grab league for overpaid overrated coaches.

Nope , wrong again , Boca is not indicative of GDA

WFF, Weston all the Florida GDA teams are second to Florida ECNL teams and some Florida FSPL and CDL teams. WFF had 3 GDA teams lose to FL Rush CDL teams.

Florida GDA is overpriced glorified NPL.
