The original press release from Oct. 2017

Islip, NY –SUSA Soccer announced today their plans for the development of Phase 1 of the new
“SUSA Sports Complex”. The sports facility project in Central Islip has recently been acquired by
SUSA Academy and will be the central hub for SUSA’s Long Island soccer operations. The plan is
vastly improved from the original developer's scope and is now a reality. Phase 1 of the current
project will consist of (4) outdoor lighted artificial turf fields, a facility field house including locker rooms,
office space, classroom space, trainer’s room, and facility restrooms. The venue will also include an
amenity area that will house an entry plaza, athletes square, food court, multipurpose event court,
shade structures and a children’s playground.

“The Town of Islip is delighted to welcome SUSA to its vibrant business community. This is a win, win
for the Town of Islip and for soccer players and enthusiasts all over Suffolk County and Long Island,
who’ll now have the opportunity to train and develop their skills in a state-of-the-art sports complex
right here in the Town of Islip,” said Supervisor Angie Carpenter.

SUSA Soccer ownership expects the development of this new Central Islip location to expand their
reach and assist in their support efforts of local youth soccer community clubs and their player pools
adding an additional level of progression for those players looking to reach the pinnacle of youth
soccer. In addition, SUSA is excited about partnering with the local community to bring multiple
programming initiatives focused on the enrichment of the children of the local community in addition to
helping local clubs expand their memberships. SUSA is hopeful to be playing on the new fields by the
      second half of 2018.

"The addition of our new Central Islip location is a major stepping stone for SUSA Soccer and youth
sports on Long Island. We continue to do things differently by providing significant infrastructure for
our players, teams and alliance clubs. We will continue to work hand in hand with established
community clubs in order to create a true pathway for player development on long Island through
SUSA Soccer. Our vision is to create an Elite platform for player development with state of the art
facilities across Long Island with an accredited and dedicated coaching staff. We continue to be
VERY excited about the future of soccer on Long Island.” -Moussa Sy, President & Director of
      Coaching, SUSA Soccer

Please tell me you are joking. It is a show case with no brackets. They blew out teams by 5 and 6 goals. They did not even play the so called 2nd place team at all.

wrong - I appreciate strong teams though out the league whatever league it is. Want one of these league to prevail and then move on from this mess. I really hope that team is great but that cannot be said based on that type of event.

US soccer is such a mess. You cant even win a national championship anymore without someone saying "well these teams in this division did not participate in the tournament and therefore they are not real national champions"....yada, yada, yada. US soccer s_cks.

sorry dumb_ss that was a blanket statement regarding us soccer. also my first post on this thread...soccer is not even a real sport so stop acting like you have a stick in your _SS.

                          congrats to that team regardless.

I have no skin the game, but please at least research what you are talking about before making a silly statement.

The original poster who talked about them as undefeated champions also is to blame. This was a showcase event and not a tournament. The purpose is to play even games and provide a platform for college coaches to view players. The teams play 3 games with no brackets or playoffs.

Typically the league tries to match up the teams based on past performance so that results are not blowouts. So teams that have been in the top of their division are matched against other top teams in other divisions. Since SUSA is new to the league they likely were seeded against lower ranked teams. In this case, they ended up blowing out 2 teams so those were not even games.

So, congratulations to the team for doing well...but it doesn't really say anything about how they compare to other teams they didn't play, especially those also in the NE.

I have to applaud you on what you said...............well said with your explanation because that's exactly how they pair up teams. A lot of people don't know that but that's what they do as I was told on many occasions by an INSIDER lol lol lets say. Nothing wrong with SUSA's success and I am happy for them because of all the crap we talk about each other from the NE it great that they went out there and played great and I am sure those teams they played left with an impression that the SUSA team is from a region where soccer is played at a very high level and certainly higher than what they were maybe use to seeing on a weekly basis. Great job SUSA and I have no skin in that age group but a lower age group from a different state but we will see you this spring lol lol before we start handing out trophies lol.
