We’re likely headed to a lot things so I’ll ask again. How are the Dems gonna change it? What’s the plan? Who’s the leader? Trump sucks won’t cut it anymore now that you control the house.

I am hoping Kasich can run as an independent. That's my answer.

We need a non-partisan problem solver. Kasich or someone like him. We need to start by getting united. Once united, we can start tackling some very difficult issues. It is HARD, granted, but the Dems and Republicans are making it impossible. We are wasting a lot of time on divisive issues of relatively minor importance and little time on the larger problems affecting our children and grandchildren.

Thank you for that answer. Finally someone has ideas better than “Trump sucks”

I would like Kasich, or someone like him, as the president also. The reason he won't get elected is that he is too moderate. He's not conservative enough for most Republicans and not liberal enough for most Democrats. It seems that most want their representative at the extremes - far right or far left. As long as that is how it is there is going to be discord. Republicans even thought that John Boehner wasn't conservative enough. Can you believe that? Boehner had enough and that's why he is no longer in government.

I hope you are wrong and that we are not a country that has turned politics into a reality TV feud between the red team and the blue team. We have real serious problems that need to be handled by intelligent thoughtful leaders and not publicity hounds, idealogues or extremists. I am hoping we are a country in which a good 60% plus are looking for a much more moderate and thoughtful response from their leadership. If I am wrong, and we are as a nation content with the partisan circus, getting crazier every 8 years it seems, it's time to turn off the lights. This will not be a country we recognize in 25 years. Know this sounds all doom and gloom but my "gut" (isn't that the ultimate source of knowledge, according to our president) tells me that we are at an inflection point. Moderates can either reappear as a political force in 2020, or we are going to see-saw between white nationalism and socialism - unappealing extremes - for years to come.

Kasich, Romney, Bloomberg (even though he just switched sides again). Smart, successful, have run shi*, they listen to their teams of people and don't fly by the seat of their pants. Most Americans are in the middle than on the polar extremes the media likes to focus on.

Well, you had me feeling optimistic about the future of our country by not turning politics into a reality TV feud between the red and blue team by intelligent thoughtful leaders and not publicity hounds or ideologues. Unfortunately, that optimism was short-lived seeing how the very first bill Democratic House Bill to hit the floor was...wait for it...almost there...hold your breath...this is huge...yep, Trump's taxes! Well played Dems. You're really gonna bring change for the better! #notsurprised
