With a returning coach, why would it be surprising if he didn't already know a few players that he wants to build a team around? Do you think coaches go into tryouts blind? That would actually be terrible. You need to focus on less players in tryouts and you can match them against the ones you know are good. Honestly tryouts is not a good way of selecting players and it would be much better to have game time familiarity with most of your kids on the team before deciding who you think can do it at a higher level. If 8 kids got invites, that means there are 8-10 spots available for the kid of the disgruntled parent who started the thread. Tell your kid to go get noticed at tryouts.

Disgruntled parent far from that. Where is the transparency with the coach? Has Pedro reached out to his players and parents for an evaluation and to get an idea for next season? I hope you guys dont have any political picks on the team. That will just blow up all the credibility about loyalty and development. We all know thats a crock...

Clearly you have been upset by your son's lack of performance on the field which has apparently caused him to not be one of the few who were told that they would have a spot on the ECNL team irregardless of tryouts.
As for Pedro, I do not think there is a "Pedro" coaching at the club at the moment. Or was this just a racist way of referring to one of the bilingual latin americans coaching at the club?
I always laugh at parents referring to "political" picks on a team. You know if your kid didn't get a "political" pick, it is because you are likely a pain in the as* and your kid isn't good enough to overcome that. Every team need starters and role players. I for one am happy when a kid gets a shot at being a role player when they have an awesome, supportive family on the sideline. There are very few kids good enough to have to deal with crazy parents.

Has Pedro reached out to your kid? If so then your a two faced parent and truly have other motive. You would rather your kid be a role player. That was borderline comical...Why hasn;t Pedro reached out to every parent on the team for an evaluation. Thats the least he should be doing. If the language barrier is a problem the club has plenty of bi lingual translators to help out. We have a good feeling that a political pick will be made. You all know who it is you get the drift....I appreciate that you made my point though...One Club One Family...

So you are sticking with the "Pedro" even though there is no coach named Pedro? Committed to having racist undertones in your message? I do not have an 06 kid so I have no idea who you are, but I do hope you have moved on to somewhere different. I don't need to be running into racists on a regular basis at games/practices etc. I hope your sons next coach has an english accent (even if your English seems pretty poor)
