What does this mean? Is this the B League of MLS EYDP?

it does say its "supplemental" to the MLS Elite league and for developing top players in the clubs pool, which is usually code for B squads, many of which were playing NPL before and need a new home, now.

I love the talk about "B" players, etc. trying to put people down. Get a grip and some perspective. Even the top 0.001% of US youth players are "B" or "C" players compared to world class players.

Ugh -- an entire league composed of profit-generating "take all comers" teams that sell parents on a nonsensical hope of "making the Academy team."

NYSC, for example, generally makes open offers to anyone who attends one of their summer camps to joing these teams in the fall.

OK well is it 2nd Tier? Championship? Is that ok? not putting anyone down just curious about the motive to brand an (not sure what to call it without offending) Elite Academy League under MLS.

NEPAL was for gap year teams -- U16 players who couldn't make a U16/U17 team.

This is just flat out second teams at each age level. Generally dregs whose parents can afford to overpay so they and their kids can say they play at a "top" club.

Same as NEPAL ..... Teams for kids who can't make the A teams at their clubs. Age groups are immaterial.

Clubs would be better off having their B teams play EDP. Pro/Rel provides legit competition.

Their B teams would get crushed in EDP. I don't think they want that. Bad look for the clubs.

No. Most of the kids that played NEPAL moved back to DA in the alternating years. Without NEPAL (as it was originally structured), those younger age kids would have had to leave their clubs and then the DA clubs would have to rebuild the multi-age teams every year.

It was for all but the best few kids in the lower half of the 2-year teams.

All this is, is former BDA clubs that were left out in the cold by the MLS clubs. They thought MLS was going to save them after US Soccer dumped them in April, and they finally realized that MLS has no plans for them. This will fall flat, because the guys running this, don't have a clue what they are doing

Well I dont understand I think the vast majority of BDA clubs are now, indeed, MLS EYDP teams. Who was left out in the cold??? Except for those that chose to be left out?
