Not true. 40% on campus including all the freshmen, but also certain other students and classes will be in campus (labs). Princeton is doing something similar. Rumors are Ivies will move fall athletics to the spring and that there will be an announcement later this week. Cal State system has athletes on campus despite shutting down campuses for just about everyone else. Problem with keeping athletics is the students who are kept off aren't exactly appreciative of athletes being there while they're doing zoom classes from their childhood bedrooms

This MA thread has links to both Harvard and Princeton announcements. Neither are giving any substantive tuition relief to students forced to on line only.

I've heard of other schools doing similar things. They're trying to have "some" classes in person to get kids back in campus and in dorms, which are a big revenue stream for them. But they won't tell you how many will be in person or how often. None are forcing you to go back - all classes will be online also. But social events will be curtailed, food service cut way back, some won't allow non students in campus or allow students to go home for weekends. Doesn't sound like much fun and room and board isn't cheap.

Well the athletes will be doing Zoom classes also. They’ll just be doing them from their dorm or off campus housing.

The amount of international students in the Ivy League has a lot to do with this decision.

Most D1 schools have announced their plans. Most are playing modified schedules in the fall.

Smaller conferences such as America East, NEC, MAAC where travel isn’t that difficult All bus trips will be better off that big conferences where almost every game is a flight will have more issues. Also what happens to teams that have to travel to Florida to play ?? When they come back do they quarantine for 14 days when they return ?

Why wouldn’t they move soccer to spring? You are saying they are just going to cancel? I would think they practice/scrimmage local teams in Fall and play Ivy League schedule in Spring. No field conflict

What do you mean no field conflict? What about the actual spring sports?

Ivies aren't even allowing most kids on campus so do you really think teams will have practices and scrimmages? No way. Maybe they'll move fall sports to the spring (felid issue can be addressed with outside rentals), but they won't even make a call on the spring semester for students until November/December. Sports would follow a similar timetable.

Ivy League will be cancelling the fall season other than football. Football will be moved to the spring with only league games played. No possible way for the fall sports to go in the spring.

It is a fluid situation....and things will likely change.
