    RIP UB Soccer

UB is shutting down. NCAA D2 Championship to defunct University. I wonder where MN ends up.

Being consumed by 3 local schools.
UB is the kind of school that will struggle in these uncertain times. Shaky financial footing, not a strong academic reputation. They had already cut a bunch of majors but couldn't take the hits.

MN will have no problem landing a good gig, it just may take awhile because most slots are filled right now

The article mentions a transition period. Does that mean UB potentially plays soccer this Fall, or it over as of now?

The article says the other 3 will take UB over “as early as a year and a half from now”. So that’s the end of 2021. Theoretically UB could play soccer this fall and next fall if that’s the case. Who knows if that will happen though?

Piece said sports are "uncertain" but I can't imagine how they could continue past the fall.

UB is the kind of school that maybe shouldn't have sports. Nice to gave not need to have. Lots of commuter students. I think some schools can create a nice niche position as "few frills but strong education price value"

Seems to me sports will be good for the next year but after this coming year they will be done

E-learning killed them. More prestigious schools than UB will struggle trying to get students to pay full pricing for on-line classes. I doubt UB will have sports this Fall. The majority of the women's soccer team is foreign players. There's still a travel ban in place.

They will have this final year of sports then no more. Unless Goodwin starts a new program

If they were already students their visa is good as long as they maintain full time student status. New students might not have been able to get their visas with embassies closed. But now they wouldn't want to start at a program that at best has one year left.

MN will have no problem finding a job. He is very well connected in the college coaching world and with a National Title he’s good

Probably the best thing that could have happened to him.

You may be right - he should have moved up the ladder awhile ago, but winning the title is a nice feather in the cap.

He just need to find college where they don’t have NCAA compliance officers, they allow him to drink at and/or allow him to be drink and lastly groping the players.
