If you think UB has cancelled due to Covid you are clueless. They have no reason to play as they sold the school. They are looking to cut as much money as possible. Has nothing to due with health and safety and more to do with the money

Nobody is listening to anyone. Look at whats happening around the country. Is it that important to play fall high school sports? Lets try to bury this virus before we have to shut down the state again. Once we start testing these high school kids more and more positive test will show up

            soccer

Kids have been playing sports for over a month. And they are all hanging out together all day anyway. Outdoor sports will have very little impact on what happens with schools.

              WaPo headline this morning

"New restrictions in Sun Belt states have flattened new cases. But infectious-disease experts see warning signs in the South, the Midwest and East Coast cities that were hammered in the spring."

People, stop with the parties! Yes socialize....at a distance. Take a vacation but only with your immediate family and not in a "hot" state like FL. Masks, hand washing, stay smart. Let's not have a repeat of the spring with everyone home, no sports, no nothing. Hybrid school is better than no in-person learning at all. A shortened sports season is better than none at all.

Yeah, and they're spawning outbreaks, taking it home to their families and communities and soccer teams

Greenwich & Darien Deal With Coronavirus 'Party Zero'-Type Cases

The two communities have experienced mini coronavirus outbreaks following events reportedly attended by young residents

"This has been a problem from the start of the COVID outbreak here in Darien," Stevenson told Patch. "As the ReOpen CT plan has moved into Phase 2 and the summer wears on, folks of all ages are beginning to travel, party together and generally let their guard down. Also, early messaging downplaying the risks to young people have likely played into the sense that kids were not getting or spreading the virus. This is clearly false."

Exactly good point. As Trump says, if we stopped testing, there would be no positive cases. So, let's open school and prohibit testing so we can have fall soccer.

thru this whole thing testing has been an issue
not enough testing gave us a false sense- and testing only sick people gave us a sense of doom
now we are leading the world in testing and you are surprised to find out that this thing is widespread? why? the "experts " have been saying this all along
the good thing is the expanded testing has shown how less lethal this virus is depending on the population- the more we test the lower the death rate gets(under 1% now) some had it as high as 6% in the beginning

                        Stop testing. Problem goes away.

                        Fixed!

I don't think it will be. Big Football and basketball are pushing to start up again soon. But there will be recruiting budget cutbacks. Now many more schools are going all online for the fall so in person visits are ????
