The national cup is open to any team that signs up and wins their regional playoffs. The NPL finals is a league championship, closed system only NPL teams play based on their league season. If you compare it to what is on TV right now the national cup is more like the euros, open to teams from anywhere in Europe, NPL finals are more like mls cup, only open to mls teams based on their season.

Ya but wasn't that team touted as the top U14 in the country by NEFC at the beginning of the season? Lucky for them they didn't play in the ECNL, wouldn't even had made it out of their division.

Congrats on wasting your money to play horrible competition. 10-0, 10-0, 7-0, 5-0, 9-1? Give me a break!

Better than going to Nationals to lose by that much. Not to worry, those teams will be in ECNL next year, and we'll see how close those games are then. I happen to think they'll do just fine.

Serious question though, what club/league are you wasting your money in? My guess is that you are jealous loser with a daughter not good enough to play in NPL, or an ECNL parent spending plenty of money already, and who better becareful what you've wished for.

Oakwood Gu15 actually got to semis as wildcard and won so playing in finals tomorrow. Another good result for a New England team.

Stars parent here. This is a good showing for New England teams, We know many on the NEFC teams, and the kids are great. We are happy for them. I have to say though, that the scores make the NPL look bad. It is not NEFCs fault, what can they do? This is as far as they can go. I happen to be glad NEFC will be in the ECNL next year, even if indirectly through Breakers, they clearly have ECNL level talent and coaching, however It will be interesting to see if they have the same success in the ECNL and NPL next year. Good luck tomorrow girls.

So,this is the NPL championships, which I imagine is across the country?? So what is the purpose of a National Cup that happens next week? How many national titles are there?

NPL Championship is strictly NPL league. The Cup includes NPL and other USCS leagues (like NEP). Kind of superfluous, it seems.
