That's a good league now as well on the NPL side.
I tend to agree. Looking in it would appear that the NENPL leauge will be very competitive without the huge travel of ecnl. not a knock on the ecnl leauge or its counterpart north east npl leauge. I just happen to like how this year is shaping up for competitive soccer.

Technically I believe the boys are a separate club. Girls and Boys are owned by different members of the same family. Different websites. They play in different tournaments and now different leagues. They share facilities, coaches, and wear the same uniforms though. So it does seem in many ways its the same club.

4 boys teams listed on Maple website for this fall season.

It's likely to only look like this for one year. Seacoast and Oakwood are both making runs at GDAP. Seeing that they both are Academy clubs on the boys side, it's seems likely. USSF may think those markets are too small to support it though.

Has NEFC upset enough other NENPL clubs that they were no longer able to freeze out SS Select?

Pretty much. Most think they belong in the northeast npl with the other ecnl clubs but they are playing around with the labels and trying to keep them separate. Basically they are getting their cake and eating it too.

Also, don't forget that the northeast npl came to be when the new england npl wouldn't let stars and scorpions in because the other members didn't want b teams in there. Now Nefc is doing just that using a loophole. And once gdap arrives, it will be their c team there.

Pretty sure you have the timing backwards. Northeast NPL was around first and served as the B league for ECNL clubs and they would not let NEFC and GPS, et all in there, so hence, New England NPL (which had been solely a boys league, started accepting girls A teams from worthy Non-ECNL teams. But by all means, don't let these facts get in the way of a good agenda.

wrong. The members of the New England NPL absolutely refused to allow "B" teams in to tarnish the league. In response, JD and Fred went to the rest of the North East ECNL teams and formed the North East NPL. The North East started in fall 2013 because it was easy to launch first from an infrastructure standpoint.

Many people were at the meeting when Stars and Scorps got shot down. Aztecs were the most vocal in opposition. This is not an agenda statement, it is simply a statement of facts. And really, were the New England NPL clubs wrong from a preservation standpoint to keep it as only an "A" team league?

NEFC is going to do what's right for their teams. Playing in the New England NPL makes more sense as there is LESS travel and they will be playing stronger teams than the Northeast NPL. Good for NEFC in doing the right thing for their paying customers. Their "B" teams will be top teams in the New England NPL league, so not sure why there would be an issue....It should be about finding the best competition, whether an "A" or "B" team!!

then why didn't they allow Stars and Scorps in way back when? Stars 2nd teams wouldn't be on par with NEFC but sure would be better than most of the others in that league. The precedent was set then and now if effect being altered. That's the point of the other clubs.

It's like the state changing election rules for replacing senators depending on who is office.

I don't disagree that it would make the league stronger by having those teams in the New England NPL as well. IMO it makes no sense to have two leagues, they should combine them. Unfortunately it's all about the illusion that all "A" teams are better. Stars NPL could beat most of the teams in the New England NPL, but no one wants an "A" team to be beaten by a "B" team. It should be about the best competition, however, now it's a ******* contest to say who has the best team in 10 different leagues where the best teams don't have to play each other.....At least NEFC is putting their "b" teams up against the best competition they can, with less travel and cost.
