TDS is very important in the context of the discussion. The point is that Duke were nor perceived to be an elite team this year. TDS has gotten far more right than the coaches poll to date. Your conspiracy theory is stupid. They rate the teams based on what they see. They dont need teams to send in scores. they are readily available.

We are not talking about at large bids or RPI. We are talking about the quality of UNC schedule to date and the fact is, its very weak. That does not mean they are not good, but it certainly shows how folks are prepared to give the benefit of history to them for no logical reason. Its quite possible to NOT be the best team and win the College Cup. A favorable draw goes a very long way.

UNC has played and beaten Washington; Portland; scrimmaged Lyonnais; Duke.

TDS has Vandy at #8 having played the powerhouses Belmont & Evansville. TN at #14 having played Fordham, Southern Lousiana, Mercer & lost to Rutgers.

TDS is no more reliable than United Coaches. They see where the stories are coming; buttering their bread.

Really?? UVA is loaded with YNT kids. From GK through forwards. Have been for years. And they have won no national championships yet.

FSU stole one a fews years back when they were only minutes away from add'l time, but that's the closest they have come in a long time.

WVU has never won it all.They lost to USC in the finals. Dont let facts get in the way. Most teams in the country are going to lose to Stanford and UVA at home. Thats not starting out slow. Thats playing elite teams early.
