OR do you go with a retread? Or do you go for a winning D2/D3 coach?
I am rooting for Smith. I hope he and his staff get things in order and finish strong. Hoping for people's failure is wasted energy and negative.

Time to put the pipe down and go tend the garden. He's had 15 years and the program has done nothing but spiral down.

Giving out full athletic vs a combo of athletic/academic uses up a ton of money that could be spread out on multiple players vs one player. This leaves a majority of your squad with partial scholarship or walk on's at a very expensive school. Players/parents will go with the money in most cases. I don't see anyone on that team that merit full athletic money.

Just expressing my thoughts and what others have told me.
He doesn't care about academics. Sad but true.

Wow. This is one of the premier programs in the country and in one of the parts of the country that is highly sought after. You have a great location. A storied program. And a soccer crazy city. The AD is will have his pick of great options. Coaches are dying to come here.

You are living in the past. UP is a hard place to recruit to now. It is no longer a premier program. It is a tiny school fighting bigger schools for players from Cali. if they decide to change coaches there will be options but not as many or of the quality you think.

UP was never all that. They lucked into recruiting the best player in the world and she lead them to some championships. Before that, and since then, nothing but private school mediocrity.

BoD meeting last night. Changes are coming. Discussion was heavily based on how well they did with the boys side new hire. They think that they can find the same quality on the girls side

UP is performing exactly as they want - mid-pack competitive in a mid-pack conference. Don't need anything more for a local private religious school.

Yes. No more nonsensical drivel. If you got names, then name them.

Tiny Pacific hired a men's coach 3 years ago and rebooted the program.
Since then he has guided them to their first NCAA appearance and now they are
6-0 and ranked #14 in the country. With the rift coach it can be done.

Emiria Salzmann Dunn, current head coach at Sonoma State.
Highly decorated coach. Husband is an asst.

Portland needs someone who has had great success at any level.
NO retreads. They can't get a winning coach from D1.

Seriously, coaching women's soccer in college is not a destination for anyone with ambition in this sport.

It's soccer in USA. Women's college probably as good as or better then most soccer jobs.
