Without a doubt Wor Academy, Berkshire, South Kent.
Tired of reading this crap every year. People who have kids that play DAP know how far superior DAP is to any high school team. People who have actually seen top level prep school teams play know how much better the preps are to high school soccer. There is no comparison.

It would be interesting to compare how many pros come out of a prep school background, and how many from DA club. I'm thinking of all the right to dream kids, Jack Harrison and other internationals etc.

Interesting question. Wouldn't know how to suss out that info, other than reading pro bios. I would say from my experience, the RTD kids and internationals may well intend some sort of pro career (here or back home) many domestic (shall we say) prep kids are just in it for the college aspect. I'm sure there are some, but realistically, blowing 50k a year before even hitting college, gonna want some sort of payback that a MLS or lower level semi pro team is not going to be able to provide!

Way more DAPs than high level soccer prep schools. Theres close to 80 DAPs.

Maybe 10 to 20 high level soccer prep schools

Agreed. I meant, if there are say 2 kids from one prep school that turn pro, compared to how many kids go pro from one DA team. Not all prep schools compared to all DAs.

Brooks has had two pros Charlie Davies and Mike Fucito

Zeiko Lewis and Jack Harrison went to Berkshire

I am sure there are others.

As this poster indicates, most of the kids we know attend a good prep school to obtain a quality, well rounded education, to play quality soccer against high caliber teams in high school and have a last go at playing college (Regardless of division) before heading off to the working world.

This is exactly why the DA is failing on the boys side. Parents like this one set the bar low and never buy into what the program is supposed to be. Waters it all down. True pro level players get recruited to go to preps because the schools like to accumulate trophies which they can use to conn parents like this one into paying the full tuition. It's really all about marketing and has next to nothing to do with the development of soccer players. The players choose to go to them more because their soccer training schedules won't allow them to attend a normal high school with attendance rules than anything else. Need to recognize that true pro level players know they are going to college before they even get to high school, the only real question is which one.

Not sure what that blurb was supposed to be about.
Previous two posts were not talking about DA. Statement was that many to most are at prep school for college prep, not Pro career with previously noted exceptions.

Also, your last sentence... true pro level players do not go to college, so...

Okay, we get it. Bottom line, it's a college draft into our domestic pro league. Regardless of what your take is on that.

[QUOTE=Unregistered;2092982]If we are talking local DA I couldn't agree more. I know this many be considered blasphemy, but there are even a few public schools that are better than the local DA's. Same is true for SOME of the top NPL and new ECNL teams, playing these teams would be great for
Development , but the local DA brass would never risk the embaressment.

Would have to agree in that there are more than a couple of pubic schools that would beat the local da's. Westbrough has a squad full of players from NEFC top teams along with several other top clubs. Top public schools have players commented to top 25 D1's. Preacher telling the truth and it hurts.
