    DA splits next year

    anyone know if:

    1) u13 DA or not next year
    2) U16/17 boys get split as on girls side or stay combined

No announcements yet buy most likely yes on A and no for B. MLS clubs don't want to split the ages and USSF is desperate to keep them happy.

Surprised USSF hasnt announced age groupings down to U4 .... plenty of money to be made as their are plenty of loony parents.

without any official statement from USSF I wouldn't bank on that.

yeah, most clubs announcing tryouts seem to be cagey around this

It was announced to the clubs. U13 boys and girls is happening for 2008's. Not sure if they are splitting any of the older age groups.

As a reminder DA didn't announce the MLS clubs essentially having their own league until June last year, way too late for people to make changes3. I wouldn't count on any information from clubs of the league until much later

This was all announced to the DA clubs at the meetings held at the DA Showcase in December in Florida.

                      2) U16/17 boys get split as on girls side or stay combined: YES on boys side. Not sure on girls.

Plenty of GDA clubs struggled to field u16 and U17 teams, let alone two quality teams. It would be a shame to see that changed for boys. Being challenged by older players is one of the better things about DA. Splitting them keeps non MLS clubs happy with more revenues, but MLS clubs don't want to have to pay more

If it isn't being split next year it's no doubt because USSF is trying to keep MLS in the league
