          Cheaper than 3 rivers.

If the Surf fees are the same in TC as Spokane, it looks like a lot more than 3RSC now for my kids age group.

Doubt they would be the same as Spokane. They charge
              Way less for Pullman.

Well Eastern Washington EPD is trying to get started back up and throw teams together for Friendship Cup. FC Spokane is merging with Sounders... trying to get into ECNL perhaps? Washington East has a deal with Central Washington Sounders to make some Girls tournament teams and the boys have Elite Academy. Spokane is moving up in the world. Hopefully Inslee doesn't f*ck things up for these kids and roll us back again. Tryouts are approaching.

This post is meant to be completely sarcastic right? EPD just cancelled training tonight because no one was going to show up. Even if they can form teams, they will just go get stomped by Portland and Seattle B teams. FC Spokane and Sounders already tried to merge a couple years ago. It lasted less than a season and was a complete disaster. Sounders is already in Boys ECNL and getting hammered at almost every age group. FC Spokane has barely any premier teams so if they think joining Sounders gets them into Girls ECNL, have fun losing by double digits every week. Washington East is almost completely falling apart on the girls side and is grasping at straws with a Central Washington Partnership. Elite Academy is a joke. Have fun traveling all over to play a lower level competition than RCL1. Inslee isnt ****ing anything up. If you would all just wear your masks and follow the rules you wouldnt be going back to phase 2 in a week.

This sounds about right. Only way Spokane could ever be remotely competitive with the top Seattle teams would be to consolidate the better players on one team, but that will never happen. Everyone wants there kid to be on a "premier team" with no regard to how poor the supposedly competitive teams are.

Honest question...what's the best path for the extremely small handful of kids here who could play anywhere? Obviously they should keep working on their own, since that's probably where the bulk of their skill and tactical awareness came from, but as far has being on the right team in Spokane, is that even possible?

Best path is probably for the very select few to guest play for west side ECNL teams. GA is the top level on the girls side in Spokane but with Sounders and Surf both having it, the players are split so both will probably struggle. Boys ECNL is without question the top boys level but our teams are getting beat badly almost every game which makes it tough to convince players to come over from teams that are winning NPL leagues. The only way it really works in East Washington to compete nationally is to pool all players from Tri-Cities, Spokane, and some of the outlying areas that have a special player ever once in a while. Pullman, Sandpoint, Moses Lake, Couer D Alene, etc. Reaching into Wenatchee and Yakima doesn’t really make sense since they are too far away. Unfortunately most of the directors in Spokane (and three rivers in TC) think they know better and won’t work together. Just watch, FC and Sounders “uniting” doesn’t stand a chance because all of the egos involved.

It really is a bummer over in EWA for that handful of talented kids (HS girl mom here) who should really be ECNL somewhere. We have several friends, unfortunately none at the same year, who can accommodate travel over the pass several days a week to play for xfire or others. The inability of the teams over here to collaborate is frustrating and we all have dumb club politics regardless of where we play. It is what it is, we're nearing the finale.

You can be a discovery player for any ECNL team. They allow two per team. You can practice with your own team and just show up to ECNL games and showcases. Best of both worlds. Happens all the time. I know of girls from Hawaii and Idaho that do this for Washington and Oregon teams already.
