Is that public knowledge or info gained from speaking with the coach, just curious. I'd love to be able to find out if the schools my kid is targeting is fully funded or not before she falls in love with it!

If she is that serious about playing there she should already have contact with the program and can ask them directly. That’s the reality of recruiting. Most of the times the coach is very upfront about money if they feel the player is worth it.

Sorry I didn’t see that you may be talking bout a men’s program. Completely different strategy there. Less D1 men’s programs compared to women and the men target out of country players and typically spend the money on them not domestic talent.

Can't talk to them until June, that's why I said target schools...

But the coach can and probably should already be. At least thats how it is with most kids on the path of being funded.

              What was the drama?

Who is going to Marist. Why did coach leave to go to Albany?

No idea in this case but coaches leave for the same reasons people leave their jobs
                    - bigger opportunities - bigger program, more competitive conference etc
                    - better fit (maybe old AD or school isn't supportive for the program)
                    - personal/family reasons (genuine, not corporate speak)
                    - sensed or were told they're out, but then most often they don't land a better spot

Any thoughts on who may be candidates for the next Marist coach?

With prime showcase season coming up they will need to fill the slot quickly, but ut this time of year has lots of people looking to move

Young women managing their career. Albany "soccerwise" is a lateral especially since it seems that Marist has a nice 2020 class coming in.

Albany as a state school is almost certainly going to pay more and gives them a lot more latitude with scholarships. They'll have to put in more than 2 years at this stop but if they can keep Albany at the top of conference that could provide a spring board to the next level in a few years.

Good point. The last two Marist coaches ,before the one leaving now, went downhill after leaving Marist. Low level d3 for the guy and D- Zero for the other.

Isn't this news just a few weeks old?

Presumably they conduct a search, bring in multiple candidates etc. Likely to take at least 30 days if not more.

It's not like they are hiring a cashier.

Probably looking at an assistant at larger program getting their first crack at an HC gig. Good opportunity for the right person especially since they've had decent seasons over the past two years.
