    bolts for girls

anyone know anything about this program ? who are the coaches ? they look like they are near the top of most of the NEP divisions they are playing in

looking for a good club in metrowest area for an 11 year old girl. not a huge fan of surf and not looking to drive 40 minutes for practices. valeo is an option but their girls program has historically been awful

Bolts are brand new to running a girls program, since the undoing of the Scorpions merger in the Spring of 2018,

FC Stars East, has a couple of teams out of the Edge in Bedford,

I think Wellesley still has a CCL-NE team, that I would not advise anyone to go on.

NEFC and Scorpions allegedly have a Metro-West region, but I don't see any teams on the NEP schedule out of them

GPS really had a stranglehold on the Newton, Needham area, that surf mostly took over on the girls side.

    Other than that,

If you don't mind going to Weymouth, you would have a ton of options, Select, NEFC SS, Seacoast Mass, Mass City, Scorpions East, or Stars South Shore are all options that play and practice out of Union Point or Lovell

NEFC SS? Seacoast mass? Mass city? That’s not sound advice

      Try SSS or scorpions.

Don't focus so much on the club... focus rather on the coach that would be teaching your kid. Is the coach a fit for what you and your kid are looking for? That's the main question you need to find an answer to.

i know the bigger clubs (stars sss scorpions nefc) and don't think they are a fit -- too far and not sure my daughter would make the top of the pyramid there. she is a good player but not a top athlete in her grade. travel is too far from needham/wellesley/newton

was looking for specific info on bolt since they seem to have rebooted the program and are having pretty good success in the NPL (dominating some division, although who knows what the competition level is).

surf is another option. . but not a huge fan

The Bolts West 2010 team is the old GPS MA West, actually located in Western MA.

NEFC have an 09 Metrowest team in the top bracket of NEP. Not sure if it plays out of metrowest or Mendon. Also not sure of your 11 year old is 2008 or 2009.

Nefc renamed their Central region Metrowest. I assume teams may be listed as either for the fall season. Those teams tend to practice in Mendon and/or Marlboro Forekicks (at least in years past). GA and DPL teams are out of the same locations.

Any idea why NEFC did that? So the teams actually in metrowest are the metro Boston or metro teams?

Seacoast Boston teams practices are based in Dedham/Westwood area. These teams play in NECSL.

I second Seacoast as a solid club that looks to be convenient to your location. As an FYI they have winter tryouts coming up around Veterans Day

you need to be playing NEP

Name one decent 2009/2010 girls team based out of Wellesley Needham Dedham that would make it worthwhile to be in NEP

For that region, better teams in NECSL

"Bolts for Girls"? Why the heck would you even name a thread like that? Bolts and Girls don't belong in the same sentence. If you want a real Girls club you have to look at Scorpions, FC Stars, SSS and NEFC. Anything else is just a waste of time and money.

Warning though: south shore select is twice the money of every other club out there.
