the only time the surf added a girl or two was due to injury. several girls have been hurt for the surf girls. the one or two girls were brought up from their second teams. they did not take any girls from other regions or higher teams since their new england 07 and 08's are their top teams.

So we were all there...that statement above is a lie. You can't take a good player like you know who first name "A" and put her on the 2010 RI Surf team as a guest. She is moved around brought in to do her big outside the box scoring for the win. Then she goes back to the 2008 and 2009 teams she plays on and not say you aren't bringing in ringers just to win. This happens so much in Surf that's just one example of many.

If the girl was a 2010, then she can play on the 2010 team. It was a top bracket so the other 2010 teams should expect top competition.

Personally I think it’s fine for the other teams to have the chance to play, as you say, top competition. But is it good for the 2010 players standing around (or sitting on the bench) watching her play, and is it good for her?

Coach LR has been doing for years. He has a "town" team with all premier kids and goes around beating up on town teams in RI. Then people say he is a "great" coach. Even worse is SC his boss. Bunch of losers making a living on wearing down kids. No kid should be playing 7 games a weekend!

True. Surf NE seems like a legit club. RI Surf is embarassing itself with all this roster shuffling. It's what SSS was criticized for!

RI Surf has odd numbers and half teams. They have kids playing on multiple teams at multiple levels of competition. For example, Labor Day tourney they had a boys team that doesn't have a full roster playing in the bottom bracket and "won the tournament" as was reported. Then for Columbus Day tournament several of the same boys played with their regular team in a higher bracket and "almost won the tournament".

Don't get me started about parents reporting their kids team "winning the tournament" yet playing in the low brackets. How about they "won their bracket" instead. FB will be the death of us all, if TS isn't first.

you have to love the smurf parents who think that the club actually has a chance to get into ECNL next year like they were promised. My daughter has a surf girl switching in the spring to her team based solely on this. Coaches promised ECNL and her parents quickly realized it was a sham.

The girl who is a guest player on three teams is an awesome player with a great foot, yes. But to move her from a 2008 team, to a 2009 team, to a 2010 team throughout the tournament is unfair to that kid and really unfair to those teams. She needs to stick with one team. How do you think the 2010 players who sat on the bench felt watching her get minutes when she is really a player for an older team? I'll tell you, they felt passed over. The coach is clearly a guy who wants to win more than develop his team. So good for him he go the win. In the meantime those sitting the bench are looking for new clubs. He is short sighted.

What is fair/unfair mean? Keep in mind that the rest of the girls also ‘got the win’ and the team played one more game and 60 more minutes than they would have without her. Sitting behind a better kid is part of sports. 99% of all of the kids in that tournament will eventually be passed over as you say. Some sooner than later. Maybe the passed over kid will move on to another sport or life activity that they are better suited for.

Because it's so terrible for premier kids to play for their town, with their friends. Get a life!
