Exactly, Ginga is local program. Not trying to compete with ECNL and oakwood aggregators. Everson should advertise all his players that make it to the next level.

Ginga and Brazil CT are perfect for these younger ages.

To be honest, it's the right move for these kids. Look at the churn on the rosters at CFC, FSA and Oakwood. Keep it local at the younger ages and then have a crack at regional teams when it actually matters. These clubs have shown that they simply take the best talent.

If players from Ginga move on to top teams in CT, that's a feather in Everson's cap.

Problem is if the average kid from Ginga shows up she is in trouble. Cfc. FSA. Oakwood are only looking top add a top player from outside their clubs. People will realize that you. Enter be with the big 3 early.

Similar discussion thread about SC. Good training at the younger ages, a few top players rise to the top then move up the soccer food chain. Some teams might stay together at the HS ages but many do not. There's nothing wrong with that - being a feeder club for bigger/better things isn't necessarily bad. CFC branches also face the same issues, some branches better or worse (Arsenal and West get hammered). The angst comes from parents who thought their kids were one of those top players but turns out they weren't.

Would rather be Ginga U13 team than Yankee. After all there chest puffing last Spring great to see that team be 2-5 in league play and hearing about how miserable some of the parents are..

Hopefully the kids have been told its about development and not winning at these ages but am guessing from what we read here last year that is not the case.

No that doesn't seem to be the case, from either the club or some of the parents

Rather play CJSA than NPL? It's about playing to the best competition and with the most skilled teammates, not wins and losses. Who cares about winning a watered down State Cup or CJSA league? I'd rather go 2-5 in NPL than 8-0 against town premier teams.

Granby Rovers, a town travel club, beat an NPL team.....there are a lot of examples of town premier teams beating teams that play NPL .

In principle I completely agree. But kids still want to win - it's more FUN. Having had a kid on a losing regional team I can attest that getting motivated to give up an entire day for a beat down game can get very hard. Worse is this team was accustomed to winning and we're told they were the 2nd coming.

Here we go again. Let me know when they have beaten one of the real NPL teams that play in either the Northeast or New England league. Not all NPL leagues are legitimate

You missed the op's point CJSA dad. Winning all the time with a few rare exceptions of decent competition vs good competition week in and week out.

Yankee plays in a super competitive league. Easy to come out on the wrong side of a one goal game. It's not the likes of Simmons or Newtown Wolfpack but it's solid competition.

Will Ginga even field a team next year at this group? Heard a bunch of the top players are leaving?

Idiotic post. Every other team in the New Jersey market plays in an NPL league. Same deal with Long Island. They are all basically travel teams that made a better league for themselves. Oakwood used to drive down there a few years ago and win games by 8 or 9 goals, talk about a waste of a day.

The CT teams in the NPL play in either the Northeast NPL or New England NPL. Granby Rovers is a nice story but they would have a hard time competing in the U13 division of either.

On another note, did Granby have a current player make an ECNL roster? If so, that would be worth bragging about!

So you actually take pleasure in seeing these kids lose and that the parents are disappointed. I think it says quite a bit about you too.

                                Not the OP -

Disappointments happen in life - but you have to dust yourself off, learn and move on. But personally I don't like seeing kids being disappointed when the cause is the adults. If the squad is imploding it's driven more by the adults (parents and club). There are some cra cra parents on that team and the club did them a disservice keeping them with the same coach all that time, especially when moving to 11v11.
