CFC is the only club that calls their teams “ECNL 2”. There are 2 leagues. ECNL and ECNL regional. The only clubs that have multiple ECNLR teams are the clubs that also have multiple ECNL teams at each age group—Stars, PDA, Crossfire, Michigan Hawks, etc. ECNLR teams follow the same schedule as the ECNL teams. Would be very difficult to add a second ECNLR team for CFC from a scheduling perspective.

Thank you! Very informative. What is the "composite" team people have talked about on here before?

For spillover from U15-U18 rosters and/or older seniors who don't have teams to play on because the rest of their team graduated.

Look at the schools the North kids are going to?

You can basically sign up and join the soccer team

not the OP but why do you care so much about the school?? If thats what the kid wants to do, then she should do it. kids go to CFCU and play at schools that she can basically sign up and join the team too. his point was that you just don't have to do ECNL to play soccer in college, which he's right. Your arrogance is what gives CFCU parents a super bad rep. *Dbag!

yeah, U Mich takes walk ons :)

Of course you don't "have to" have ECNL to play in college, but if you want to play at a certain level having it on your resume gives you a far better chance of achieving that. Plenty of coaches won't even look at you without it. Lower level D1 and D3, then sure the patch isn't a "necessity" but gives you a leg up with recruiting and better exposure.

This is 100% accurate. You don’t “have to” do it; but it certainly makes you much more marketable than if you didn’t. And you’re responsibly better suited for the quicker style of play found in college.

Actually they do. As do most D1 programs.

🤣 and that one walk on, if that even, never sees the field and is gone like they were never there at all. Walking on is not a plan.

Not all cfc players are cut out for or even want top level D1. If CFC is trying to build their other branches and give them a more competitive level that will help lead their players to college, even if its D3, its a good thing.
