Minnesota United academy is practically defunct. The other academies are already training.

I have to laugh at the idiots on the CT board who want USL academies and club acquisitions. MLS clubs don't have the cash .... Imagine being a USL club right now?

Someone also wanted NWSL to start academies also. Both they and USL are trying to keep the lights on.

It's also not where MLS clubs want to be spending money right now either but at least most have deeper pockets. Growing rumors that a full fall schedule will not happen - probably driven by both money and uncertainty about Covid, travel, etc. So, will MLS teams let kids play HS then? Because if not, with few games the training better be be freaking outstanding.

MLS kids will be allowed to play high school soccer if there is a high school season at all.

If they do it once, kids are going to want it to continue. Sorry, it's fun to play night games under the lights with your beat friends in front of friends, family, and lots of fans from in town.
