Awesome. Let them get it and bring it home to parents and grandparents and spread it to others throughout the community.

How selfish and criminal of you. Boomers the worst generation ever in what you are doing to the youth. Locking up the children is disgusting but the real tragedy is the mountain of debt your putting on them. Grandma can Quarantine for the time being

Grandparents probably aren't going to be out and about for the foreseeable future.

If it weren't for that annoying community spead thing, putting teachers, coaches family members and the broader community at risk who aren't 15-24.

            Smdh 🤨🤨🤨

This lockdown was Necessary at the start as there were too many unknowns now it is a total farce .Coronavirus affects 3% total population.Easier to quarantine those in known risk groups than the entire population. Its a pathetic push for more funds-with a mail in voting add on.Joke

Yet its proven nearly impossible to completely isolate the most vulnerable (70+ and immunocompromised), and many who get very ill and wind up in the hospital are <70

if this effected only the youth, all the adults and grandma would be on with there life. Hypocrite

to say teachers can't take on the same risks as a grocery store worker is a ridiculous argument. Especially when the risk is near zero by the current data.

Exactly, but we always think of the children first .Closing schools will prove to have been useless.

Teachers have a much more powerful union.

It would be easier to isolate children because they don't have to go to work or shop.

If the virus mutated and the impact on children worsened, parents would instantly stop complaining about distance learning. The 1918 pandemic saw a 2nd much more deadly wave that attacked young adults hard

Except for the fact that the annoying community spread thing already happened.

If you assert that COV19 has proven to be a wildly infections disease, that Fed and Local Govt was caught unprepared, and that we acted much to late, you have to also accept that the spread for the most part happened. It's impact is now known. The immuno-compromised face a real risk. We all carry a new responsibility and social norms will be impacted, but the hard data on actual Deaths as a percentage of specific populations (cases is irrelevant, because it's an unknown number) is that this is a low-risk disease.

Which occurred against the backdrop of 1918 healthcare practices.

yes cities that had earlier and stricter distancing measures, even wearing masks, fared better than ones that did not.

The virus certainly affects older people more in terms of sickness and death, but it can effect children. A pediatrician who works at a MA hospital said they do see young Covid-19 patients with severe breathing problems and no pre-existing conditions. Nothing like older adults, but it happens. Schools are a great breeding ground and they bring it home to parents and other older adults.
