The NEP/Club owners have no one to blame but themselves. Instead of playing politics and blocking good teams/ clubs from getting in they allowed town teams to sneak in under club umbrellas. Last straw was Blocking teams such as Seacoast into NPL, Surf from entering into NEP/NPL and Icing our Juventes. With the Demise of GPS and 2/3 of FCUSA teams leaving,WP leaving to EDP in conjunction with Valeo teams being looted by former employees The NEP will be a shell of itself. This is a great example of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I think EDP eventually wins but NEP will hang on for another season or two. At least until EDP lures a few of the following clubs:

FC Stars, Scorpions, Bayside, Seacoast, NEFC, Select, Bolts.

Not saying this would or should happen but... what if EDP takes the SFCs, Best, Spririt of Liverpool, Loverpool, Lightening, etc. The clubs in NEP but never had a real say. Then freezes out the power hungry lot that was causing the black balling at NEP. Wouldn't that be a turn around!

I think if Bolts or NEFC leaves NEP will be gone. They supply good talented teams on boys side. SSS, Scorpions, stars have a very weak boys presence if any at all.

Oh, is NEP just a boys league?

NEFC would’ve the Death nail. They supply 1-2 top teams in each bracket of NPL and NEP.

basically NEP is on a respirator. EDP and NEP have split the Non GDA/DA, ECNL leagues and now instead of one strong league(NEP) we have 2 average leagues. You know who loses out? the kids

Simple fact is that the top talent in MA is at a handful of clubs like Stars, Scorps, NEFC, and SSS and they have enough 3rd and 4th level regional teams to just play each other and still have great competition at those levels. That’s what the top NEP divisions (championship, premier) outside of NEP NPL have become at least on the girls’ side for several years. They don’t need these small clubs like Rush, Surf (GPS knockoff), etc. where the talent is sparse and the competition is iffy. If those small clubs want to join a different league like EDP which has zero history in New England, then by all means don’t let the door hit them on the ass on the way out.

The Boys side is totally different and will take a much bigger hit. Stars, Scorpions, SSS have little to no footprint in NEP/NPL. Our Child played in U12 Premiership league and out of 24 teams 11 are gone. That means NPL will be seriously impacted as well. Now NEP and EDP talents will be sparse and competition will be iffy. NEFC will have the majority of teams by far.

The Bradley’s facing legal issues and most likely jail or fines. They are heavily involved with Surf. Why would the NEP let Surf in the NEP despite SC lobbying for them ?

ECRL has been terrible forever and NPL is B team of decimated bad GDAP remnants.
What you are all forgetting is there are 3 pyramids.
US Club Soccer which has ECNL, NEP, NPL, DPL
US Youth Soccer which is EDP/NL, EDP/NECSL
                          Finally MLS, MLS Academy.

You can't rank them together because there is no lineage for advancement

MLS "Academy" is an US Youth Soccer sanctioned league.

This is almost correct. You are forgetting the CCL and the USYS League Championship.

And MLS Academy League is USYS

Not all of those leagues are "open" or merit based even in USYS. Very hard to compare them all.
