My sons U16 team was just informed that Jeff Cup Showcase was rescheduled for July and if they end up canceling there will be no refunds. Does anyone else find this absurd and unreasonable?? Why would they keep everyone’s money if the event is cancelled, especially in these hard times??? It’s a complete joke if they don’t change their position. At least a credit for next year should be issued. Goes to show you what a harsh business without regard for doing the right things youth soccer has become and is.

What do they need all money for if they don't run the tournament? Why can't clubs just use it for 2021 and refund the teams from the oldest age groups? Every single soccer club is hit by this virus, not just Richmond united.

Would serve them perfectly right. No one will be back next year or they will demand that payments be made at the field.

Boys Showcase - July 31- August 2, 2020
They are asking for teams to accept by June 15 and provided a link to do so. It also said those not choosing to participate will not be given a refund. And if they do not receive an “all clear by June 8 they will have to cancel the three weekends completely without any possible refunds.”

If this is true this is horrible. Why do leagues and tournaments think continue to push things into summer when teams change starting June 1st?

Jefferson Cup Teams,
With the extraordinary circumstances that made us cancel (now postponed) the last 3 weeks of the 2020 Jefferson Cup, we have been working diligently to determine a solution and outcome for teams.
Over the past week, we have been able to solidify new dates for this year's event. As long as we have an "All Clear" from USYS and/or US Club by June 8, 2020, we will be hosting the three remaining weekends on the following dates:
Girls Weekend - July 18-19, 2020
Girls Showcase - July 24-26, 2020
Boys Showcase - July 31-August 2, 2020
All accepted teams will have the opportunity to participate without any additional entry fee. To confirm participation, please use the registration link below. The deadline to confirm participation is June 15, 2020.
Registration Link - http://richmondstrikers.bonzidev.com...ayout=14472525
Directions for registering:
Click on the Member Login button at the top right
Go to the bottom under the SIGN ON button and create an account.
Login into the account and select specific weekend for participation
*Should your team choose not to participate, unfortunately, refunds will not be provided. If we do not receive an "All Clear" by June 8, we will have to cancel the three weekends, without any possible refunds.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
We look forward to hosting your team in July!
Sincerely,
Jefferson Cup Staff

If they don’t issue any kind of refunds or credits for following years, this may be their last year. I can’t imagine many teams would want to go back if that’s the case.
I also don’t understand how they could possibly come to the conclusion that they should keep ALL the money.
