Everything is shut down until May. Most clubs are planning on starting up in May when schools are back in session. If that gets pushed back, then clubs are planning on June. If June doesn't work, then yeah, officially the Spring 2020 competitive season is over. Clubs are doing the same thing every other business is doing, planning based on the information they currently have. As that changes, so to does their plan.
Easy for you to say "Just cancel everything". I'm guessing you are still employed, getting paid, and haven't changed anything in your life other than not going out to eat and figuring out how to keep your kids entertained while they're home from school. Those running businesses have a bit more on the mind, like how to stay as a going concern on the other side of this, how to pay employees and keep customers happy...

Not cancelled, received email from Club today stating they are hopeful to get soccer in this season with 4 possible options. Each option start date is a week apart with hopeful first game being played on May 9/10th and worst case scenario in option 4 the season ends July 18/19th

NEP season is over. Stop asking. Season is done.
No matter how many times you ask it won’t make SC reverse his decision.

So mass youth soccer said it was okay to play into July and August. If that is the case I would assume district select would not take place. Nothing better than play on a turf field when it is 80 out. Not even games but practices also. I assume this is just away that the leagues and clubs will still make their money and leave it up to the parents if they want to play or not.
