I'm confused, you have no evidence that it was a forfeit other than a 3-0 scoreline being reported as if there is no way that 3-0 would be a scoreline in any other soccer game?

Looks like GPS has rearrange other State Cup games for clubs, including Stars, so why would this one be any different, unless SM messed up and agreed to a game when they couldn't actually attend

Plenty of first hand accounts on this thread that Stars forfeited. That’s where the facts end since folks seem to be speculating as to why. It also isn’t up to teams to be scheduling or re-scheduling games. The cup rules are pretty clear that the league is setting the schedule and you either show up to play at the appointed time or suffer the consequences.

Agreed that was a total crap coaching job especially since that same Stars team beat that GPS team 7-0 at the stars cup. How can a coach screw that up? Although GB and his soul sucking coaching are somewhat to blame. Half that team hates playing at this point.

I get the impression some on that team will go to war for him. Like...they followed him to Stars.

And the teams faced off last September and November and Stars won 3-1 and 5-0 under DB so not sure what is happening now other than being under GB now. Team looked terrible.

How are ECNL & New England NPL teams playing each other so much? Is it because the West team is barely an ECNL team?

GB coached the 5-0 win in November and they look to be doing pretty well in the ECNL according to the standings... maybe an off night?

IMO it’s because DB doesn’t constantly threaten the girls to “make them play better” which I put in quotes because it doesn’t work and the girls play worse. DB also believes in playing a passing game and doesn’t coach from a place of fear because he doesn’t care that much about winning and loosing. He’s one of the few coaches at stars who believes in developing players rather than focusing on the win today. GB and SM will tell the defense to one touch the ball and then yell at the middies for not controlling the game. Um. If the defense is booting the ball over their heads how exactly should the middies control the game? So yeah if half your team is totally done with soccer because they get screamed at in practice and told they suck every game it’s pretty hard to win games.

No the west team is fully an ecnl team. They play each other in tournaments not in regular season.

^This has not been our experience with GB last year or this year on a different team he coaches. But, agree DB is a great coach.
