So, how many parents here left their existing club because they didn’t get bumped up? And does the Elite tag make you feel better about your child’s standing in the world?

It’s a disease. Clubs get the abuse but parents are a complete disaster throughout this whole process. When will we learn and do away with the ridiculous notion of tryout season?

My kid had an early offer for a B team at his current club. He's playing up a birth year, so for him it's a challenging environment.
Nice kids, coach, and parents.
He did tryouts elsewhere, for various reasons. Decided to take the early offer before finishing the tryouts.
The grass is not always greener. We're happy he looked. And we're happy to be staying.
We know players leaving higher level teams, and moving down, due to miserable experiences.
If your kid is developing, having fun, and the parents are mostly sane; stay put.

You may find something better, or you may confirm what you thought - this place is the best place for my kid next year. None of us have any control over this insanity. All we can do is try and get our kids through it all, find the best environment for them, and not worry about what else is going on.

1 yr is nothing, yet it’s treated like the answer
