The quoted fees cannot be for real. I thought only Bolts and SSS, with mandatory add ons, was over $4k.

We have all of this training and the USMNT can’t even qualify.
Our version of Pay to play is not working with these cookie cut factories and our kids are burnt out after years of HS/club. Many of these Walmart clubs are about big numbers, expanding and monopolizing. I’d prefer to see the smaller clubs thrive.

All this blame of the failures of MNT being pushed to the clubs is nonsense. Failures are strictly those of the USSF and their utter fascination with certain players through the youth stages and reluctance to bring in any new players besides the usual suspects. That goes for the women too.

Any kid who goes to a real NT camp knows that your daughter has to perform every time. One missed tackle is costly. One flubbed goal is costly. Fitness, carrying a few extra pounds, is costly. There is a reluctance when teams are winning.

I agree with this 100%. The burnout theory is ridiculous because other countries have these kids in their camps at an early age and play just as often. The main reason along with the federations infatuation with certain players is that in the US not all the top athletes choose to play soccer. In other countries the majority of top athletes choose to play soccer. Here they choose baseball or basketball or football. It’s not from a lack of training or burnout or stupid Parents or clubs. The best go elsewhere. Now that’s not to say every top athlete chooses another sport but the majority do. The dream of playing a professional sport is first aligned w the love of the game, hence why youth soccer is one of the most popular sports in America but then that gives way to realizing it doesn’t pay to play professional soccer in the US. In other countries it does.

We have plenty of athletes that chose soccer. It's what we do with them - or don't do with them - that is the issue.

Exactly. There are many football/basketball professionals that wouldn’t make it in soccer.
We burn em out and they are done after “winning” becomes the only focal point.

I don't know where you are getting your prices from and what level team you're talking about. For DA and ECNL maybe these prices, but your numbers aren't close for lower level teams. Speaking of ECNL, does SU have ECNL? No. SU just got DA, and are keeping prices low for now, probably just to be able to get DA off the ground there.

NH prices will always be a little cheaper than in MA, that's how it always has been (same goes for GPS). Their DA prices are inline. And, no, they don't have ECNL. They have been trying to get in there for years but were not allowed to. ECNL is very protective of their membership.
