DA coaches and technical staff aren’t ever at reserve games or training sessions, and there aren’t a lot of reserve players getting regular training with the da teams (and few if any reserve players have been called up for DA games, apart from a few for the struggling 06 team). Those problems are on top of the broader problem of having combined age group teams because they weren’t able to attract enough players to their hastily organized tryouts last year. The program is priced at a significant premium to other clubs, and no one will be willing to pay that premium and stay with the program beyond this year if there isn’t a high degree of integration with the DA program and a real pathway to the stronger players getting opportunities with the DA teams.
ECNL seems like a much better bet than Reign Reserves if a player wants to be seen by college coaches

Not really an issue until freshman year at the earliest.

dorman is a respected coach but tends to stick with his favorite players to a fault, parents on his teams have always talked amongst themselves about this. since he has two A teams with reserve squads his willingness to now also incorporate any deserving reserves into the DA teams will be important.

to be fair reign leadership definitely seems to be making the internal pathway a priority. the 05/06 reserves is not even the strongest team but there have been some players called up from it and the 03/04 team hasn't started their first club season (outside of summer tournaments) and they've already called some players up for this weekend's games.

frankly, like any B teams in any club anywhere there's only a few players on those squads who are ready to move up immediately anyway although every B team parent thinks their kid should already be on the A team lol. the sell is that it is the best environment for players with A team potential in which to develop into future DA players. definitely agree that more inter-squad practices/scrimmages to allow first team coaches to see all of the club's players in an age group at the same time would be ideal and should be a much bigger part of the process going forward.

Lol. Man, you DA parents are delusional. Almost as delusional as ECNL parents. Look, many of your A team players are really B team, at best, players. Both sides. Things are so diluted for talent. So, what chances does a reserve player or real B team player really have to move up to the A team? Such a cruel joke by clubs and coaches.

Dorman? King of the poachers? He lost his job as EPD due to his poaching. Oh, where did that threatening lawsuit go? Nowhere. He is persona non grata in WYS. He probably needs to leave the state if he gets fired from Reign. Did he convince you to leave your club and your kid still doesn't play more? I really don't care if DA survives or not, but it was a humorous turn of events with ECNL and DA. What is it up to now? 9 travel trips, 2-3 showcases? Almost have to take out a loan for all that. Feel bad for your ulittle parents caught in this fight.

LOL Reign is stuck with Dorman as much as Dorman is stuck with Reign. No other A level coach in WA is willing to coach there and burn their bridges to all the other clubs.
