They won't have to score very many, because not many schools are going to score on them.

This will be their last chance because after this year, doesn’t look good.
The last sentence is false, the rest is all hearsay from someobe with an axe to grind. Shelton's time as a top SCC program will continue in the present and the future.

Shelton girls historically top out at about 14. Once the hips get a little wider, the poor diet catches up to them. Many eat themselves off the pitch before the end of high school. With the trend toward later commits, that doesn’t bode well for Shelton girls who won’t stand up to the competition at 16.

Soccer generally Isn’t kind to the lumbering big girls.

Big advantage around u14 but goes massively down hill from there. Give me speed and technical ability all day long

Idiot from Idiotville with no answers. Bet you "topped Out" at 14.

Definitely not hearsay, but the truth unfortunately. Coaches constantly can’t figure it out, and instead of building a team, they pin the players against each other. Below average coaching, weaker underclassmen, and struggling travel teams in the youth program, makes for a bad stretch of years.

I mean has anyone seen the ridiculous old fogey coaching shelton girls teams yelling stuff like 'stay in your zone', 'drill it forward'... this is what you get in Shelton, some clueless old timer with limited coaching skills joysticking across the field. That guy can't be doing any good for those kids and certainly not preparing the girls for a higher level of play

Shelton actually has one of better soccer cultures in the area.

The coaching is just flat out terrible and ultimately limits their potential.

                      Definitely is hearsay.

The facts are that Shelton has strong underclassmen in place and a premier program that holds its own, despite having to compete with the price gouging, under coached loudmouths at Yankee, CFC (the F is for fraud) and whoever else can sell snakeskin oil to ignorant fat asses like yourself with money to burn. Ultimately judgement doesn't come by the letters and colors on the overpriced jersey your self-proclaimed skinny u14 wears but by what comes from deep within. How badly someone wants to play at the next level will have more to do with whether they play at the next level than some loudmouth foof who practices foot skills for three hours a night, three days a week.

It is amazing how many parents/coaches on here think they are John Wooden, Vince Lombardi, and Casey Stengel all rolled into one. I mean how the hell are you going to stereotype girls from a town based on body type and diet? F'ing moron.

Let's just see how the next five years play out before you proclaim Shelton soccer is on the verge of collapse.

Casey Stengel? He doesn't belong in the same sentence as Wooden and Lombardi. Go back to the internet and do more homework on all time coaching greats and then post again.

not OP, but Stengel belongs in that conversation for sure. I believe he managed 7 world series winning teams.

True, but now we’re getting off topic... the topic was that Shelton breeds heavier girls with big appetites and that their coaching sucks.

It's all because of the melon heads

Baseball managers do nothing and have no impact on World Series appearances. Joe D and Mantle were responsible for getting him to those World Series
