You obviously have no clue of what you are talking about. WST offers financial assistance based on need, regardless if the players are on first team, second team, third team. My kid was one of those on the second that was given assistance. Thanks to them my child was able to able to play. I don't understand the hatred on this forum for WST, maybe its the jealousy for their success.

Chad's family moved and settled in Oregon when he was a HS Freshman nearly 15 years ago. Over half his life his family called Oregon home. Oregon's HS Player of the year distinction usually goes to an Oregonian, that honor was bestowed on Chad.

Lead the WSM Rangers from u15 to u19.

Chad while playing for the USA national team scored the-game winning goal in the u20 WC match vs the Lionel Messi Argentina squad, No american in history has lead any club team or national team to a victory over a team with Barcelona's Messi as an opponent.

An argument can be made that Rubio was actually developed by WSM and US Residency soccer for youth.

Both Chad & Rubio played 5 years/seasons with WSM youth development program.

Certainly Rubio can. He was born and raised here and played for WSM until he went to Bradenton. Chad is an amazingly athletic, hard working player. The HS player of the year goes to someone playing in HS. That's the only qualification. An exchange student could win so that's not much of an argument. The success at the U20 WC is better.

The club doesn't actually sponsor players. The club uses member fee surplus to sponsor players. This is why WST has no real claim. They use member surplus to provide need based sponsorship (not merit based) for players to draw more players. Don't kid yourself if you think WST would provide a need based scholarship to second tier players.

Not true in our experience. Westside Timbers also has a fundraiser for raising money for financial needs and other needs. I don't know how it all works, but thought it should be mentioned. I do know some girls and boys that receive aid for need and not ability because WT are trying to help those in the community that have a real need and want to play.

No one is perfect, but overall we have had a good experience with WT for our son and daughter. I have seen Rubio help at some clinic or practice and was very impressed with his soccer skills, but more impressed with his humbleness and attitude in being a great model for the younger kids.

United States defeated Colombia by 1-0 in U20 World Cup round of 16 fixture, Colombia was all over USA when it comes to possession and number of shots but USA managed to find a winner in the second half which was scored by Rubio Rubin.

Colombia are out of the world cup while USA are through to the quarter finals.
