    OPL vs OYSA

Now that the combined fall league is upon us its apparent that 90% of the original OYSA teams will finish in the top four of every league.
Will a OPL team even win a league?

All of the trash talking by the OPL will come to an end by the end of this fall season.

The OPL failed because of its poor management and absolute zero forward thinking. I wonder who ended up with the $675,000 that was taken from their members.

Why perpetuate the conflict, are we all not happy that the leagues are rejoined and now all of our kids have the best competition for whatever their skill level is? Idiots like you that kept the feud alive and delayed the union.

Let's let this thread's life be quick and irrelevant, don't reply.

Let's remember this at the end of the season, shall we? OPL Boys teams will do just fine. And all the top girls teams left for ECNL so your OYSA blokes are left playing for 3rd best.

OPL failed because the Timbers and Westside wanted the OPL to fail. They killed their baby when it become an insubordinate adolescent they couldn't control.

Timbers can't beat the sounders or caps on the field and Westside can't beat the ECNL, but they can beat THUSC in back office politics - good job!

Who cares? It's a beautiful opening weekend. Enjoy the weather and enjoy the games. This is not life or death. It's fun.

That it is, anyone know why scores don't seem to be posted? Glanced at 3 different girls and boys divisions and no scores posted on any of them.

Scores won't post to the public until both teams enter them in the system and its confirmed that both scores each team enters match each other. So could be a while.

Correct. Top girls teams formed ECNL teams. The old OPL teams ("A" and "B" teams are really the 2nd and 3rd level teams)---everyone just got bumped up a slot. Essentially, the competition will be a bit better for the old OPL teams (THUSC, Crossfire, Southside, FC and maybe Willamette) and the old Timbers Alliance teams will probably feel that the competition is a bit weaker.....

We have played in the OPL for the last 2 years and it gets old playing the same 4 teams (Crossfire, Southside, Willamette United and Pacific FC)----you play the same teams 2-3 times in the fall and the same teams 2-3 times in the spring. To be honest, I want to go to Bend/Eugene and Medford just to see how our squad actually will stack up against those teams...been a long, long time since we have actually played those teams, except for in a summer tournament or at a regional type deal. Good to see how they do match up on the pitch.....

Long drives to play bad competition is a waste of time.

Long drives to play bad competition = Oregon soccer. Not enough good teams - especially now with ECNL.

Short drives to play bad competition is also a waste of time. Hopefully we are back on the road to having enough teams participating that leagues can be built providing good competition for all...

                          C'mon now, it's Oregon.

OPL vs. OYSA = The new boss is the same as the old boss.
