Good article on issues facing USMNT https://www.google.com/amp/s/sports....204950746.html

Fans are right to wonder why the roster looks so “thin”. After 10+ years of DA, the MLS getting stronger, Americans going overseas to learn/play soccer, and all the money & time USSF has spent with NT camps and scouting why can’t we find strong players for every position?! Contrast the men’s team with the women’s. With the women, there is continuity and leadership. You can draw a line from one generation of coaches and players to the next and they stick around so that veterans can help new players adjust to a style of play. With the men, we rotate coaches and players in and out so often there is no continuity. The playbook gets tossed out after every failure and we look for something new. No wonder we can’t improve...

We’ve got to move the game forward here and the MLS signing top US talent like Morris is the right move for everyone.

He played a good game against Uruguay. Created multiple chances and got the tie goal. The goal didn’t need to be pretty, and it would be worse if he missed, right?
Morris has tremendous natural skills. That's why it is unfortunate that he didn't go to Europe and test just how good he could have become.
A more mature player seeking to be the best player he could would have gone to Europe to test himself against the best possible players and sought to get on the radar of better teams and keep growing as a player. Instead Morris jumped into the quicksand known as MLS.

Is this what happened to the men’s national basketball this time?
Is our time over...maybe we show deterioration in sports as our downhill slide commences?
Are the snowflake chickens coming home to roost?

As far as basketball is concerned... No....(hell even FC Barcelona loses once in a while).

          https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2019/...etball-losses/

since 1992 the Dream Team has only lost 11 times in international play (thats pretty freakin dominant) considering that last loss prior to 2019 was in 2006 by Greece (a 13 year win streak).

Now if this happens again next year, perhaps there will definitely be some validity to your point...hopefully you are wrong :)

Problem is that this team isn’t the Dream Team. The best USA players don’t want to play for their country anymore. They don’t want to jeopardize their fat NBA paychecks by getting injured doing national duty.

In the past two years, *three* have sprung up: Black Rock/Northwood, Black Rock/High Mowing, and Putnam Science in CT. Northwood and Putnam Science are in the top 10 nationally. It's known that these are soccer programs, the education is not rigorous/the most important thing. Interesting development.
Fake/mediocre schools to attract soccer talent - what a concept.

Olympics should be an amateur competition. I don’t care about FIBA. FIFA needs to watch it too, looking for too many matches
