2019 SCC prediction and chat thread

Not sure how good the SCC is but,

Guilford lost 1st round of state tourny. Not sure what two "good" goalies means. Do they both play at same time? Would go easy on the good. Fast player?

Mercy Lost 1st round after bye in states

Amity had the only win out of all teams here.

Shelton lost 1st round after bye in states

So in the SCC these groups will "battle" but when play decent and emphasize on the decent comp they are in trouble. When you have a bye in states it is due to your record, when you lose after a bye in 1st round that is bad as is to usually a much lower seed. Usually the lower seeded team played better comp all year even though losing games and not a great record but stronger team for playing better schedule.

Hand had a great senior class several years back. This team is young and will grow. Coach does have to go and so does the big mouth Dad with the freshman and senior. What a joker poser that guy is

No one is saying that the SCC is any good vs. outside. It is obvious that the SCC has not been that competitor for some years. Every once in a while a team may get past the 2nd round but not that often.

Note that goalies often get injured and it is nice to have a competent back up not some travel rec goalie who can't jump more than a few inches.

First of all there’s no way, you watched all the games. Guilford beat Cheshire 1-0. Guilford has, Will and always be a kick and run team. No one expects much from Cheshire this year.

Hand has given up almost as many goals in the first two games as they did all of last year. Rumor has it a senior forward, an all-conference center D among others aren’t playing because the coach is a such a DB. When will Mad parents realize that the son is not in the same universe as the old man and is probably the worst coach in the SCC? Smh

All true, especially the DB part. Madison parents realized a long time ago that the son is not on the same level as the dad. We've also realized that the dad (who runs most of the "practices" and gives the in-game instruction) is stuck in the 80's and has no idea how to coach girls.

Yes, probably keyboard warriors. That does not change the fact that this daddy is a cancer. Been watching for several years in town. Very divisive and treated the town kids he coached like crap. Coaches his daughters now from the parent sideline. Really bad.

Again, sounds like a parent here who thinks his/her daughter was better than she was and deserved special treatment. Probably still thinks so. The coach must be yet another coach who didn't recognize your daughter's incredible talent...SMH. You're sound like one of those parents who never volunteers for things and yet likes to complain about the people who do. Focus on your own kid and stop worrying about other people.

Couldn't agree more. I'm a youth coach and it's a thankless job. You can have 90% of the parents on board and it just takes those 1-2 parents to make it a miserable experience. It's no wonder it's getting tougher and tougher to get parents to step up and volunteer.
