Would never ever happen .... D1 have too much face to lose by even a close game, let alone a loss.

You should keep telling yourself that your daughter's rotten D1 team at her awful academic school is better than a NESCAC school. You're fooling yourself but not the rest of us. No doubt no D3s could beat BC, UCLA, FSU, UNC ..... but after #50 or so in D1, the drop off is steep.

Williams WAS good,Amherst would be competitive MIT and tufts doubtful .Lowell not good lost coach and players .Umass trying to build .Would be competitive games D1 would win majority of them.

I think would outcomes would be split at best, but mostly in D3 favor for these schools .... point is, top D3 teams instate can play with bottom half of instate D1 .... you proved my point. Now let's talk academics for those schools since none of these kids are making a nickel off of soccer after 4 years.

Academic success is solely dependent on the individual in the seat.Nothing to do with 1,2,3 or Ivy .

But soccer success is purely through D1, ECNL, or GDA? Got it.

That is also false even more so.Money goes to money more often than not .Ivy league kids were well off to begin with and in most cases private school kids .Are their academically gifted kids that attend sure, but that is not the norm.

Bottom line is .In this State the top D1 would crush top D3.

Tallest midget. MA isn't where top college soccer is being played.

Absolutely 100% agree. Also in this state, the top 4 D3 could play with and beat the bottom D1.

The issue really comes down to the quality of the athletes and the amount of work they put into soccer. In 99.99% of the cases the athletes that get recruited to D1 are better athletes than what gets recruited by either D2 or D3 program. Most D3 parents simply don't recognize just how vast the difference in the speed and athleticism between the divisions actually is. You don't understand that your kids are running on a muddy track so everyone looks relatively the same. Even if a D3 program did have 1 or 2 of the mythical D1 caliber prospects that chose academics, they don't have 11 never mind 20-25 of them. The overall quality of the rosters, even at the lowest levels of D1, are still going to be better than even the best D3 ones. That's just the starting point though because the D1 kids have many more organized practices due to their longer pre-seasons, longer seasons, and supervised off season programs. Even if the rosters were hypothetically close the D1 kids are generally going to surpass the D3 kids simply due to their work rate. It's a nice idea but the reality is the D3 soccer programs would not be able to beat any of the D1 programs on any more than a fluke occurrence. That's just the reality.
