Is it true FSA & CFC are ditching NPL teams for an ECNL “2” feeder team?

Considering that NPL teams have done just as well as ECNL in the ENPL playoffs, it makes no sense. Instead of having 2 chances for their program to qualify ENPL, there is only 1 now? If I’m one of the parents that decided to stay NPL due to travel despite having a child good enough for ECNL, I would be pissed considering that it was not communicated BEFORE tryouts. I have a feeling that, if true, there are going to be a lot of angry parents calling out the program directors and coaches. Smart thing to do is table it a year to communicate BEFORE tryouts so the players/parents can make an INFORMED decision. So, can anyone confirm/deny the rumor?
Welcome back Rip Van Winkle .... this has been discusses ad nauseum about 3 months ago.

A notch? Lmao. Comparing CFC to FSA at any level is like comparing the Yankees to the Marlins.

You know that it is literally THE EXACT SAME LEAGUE, right? Same teams, same schedule, new name. nothing to see here.

All affluent players are now elite if they so choose. Just step up and pay the money.

Everyone involved knows it's the B teams. It's just a different banner they play under. Stop trying to make it more than it is, which is purely a business decision to limit NPL. It's a dog eat dog world out there now, with leagues and clubs duking it out over a limited talent pool.

Is the ECNL 2 release the reason why CFC changed the name of its former Boys CFC North NPL grouping to Regional grouping?

Let me clarify this. There is no ECNL 2. Teams are using this term for some reason in some cases, but it does not exist. There is the ECNL and ECNL Regional League.

No one tried to sell this as anything other than the NPL teams that belonged to ECNL clubs would now fall under that banner. It is simply a consolidation under the ECNL brand.

Good question; why did they change the names for these teams?

They aren't NPL any longer but ECNL Regional. Same teams playing under a new banner

Someone in marketing should reach out to the clubs and give them guidance on the correct nomenclature. Naming of clubs for FC Stars tournament is comically all over the place for the regional teams. ECNL2, ECRL, ECNL Regional, Regional ECNL. Not a real smooth roll-out.
