Makes No Sense in FL
Why do kids need to travel to GA TN AL to find competition when their are plenty of very well trained and competitive teams in the South. Tropical Soccer, Weston, PSG, Kendall to just name a few. This is purely a money gimmick, a label! If parents smarten up and raise this even to their current ECNL coaches, it brings a good point. Why not try ECNL against top five state cup teams - they would be demolished. It would be an utter embarrassment. Meanwhile the parents say to themselves what terrific training they are getting. Let’s not question the training and try to face off southern teams. Smack every team in FL, and then venture out of state. How absurd that Miramar is traveling 15 hours when they could travel 15 minutes.

The boys ECNL is a better organized league than the USYS leagues. USYS regional and national leagues are poorly run. In both cases, ECNL or USYS, the cost is way too high and time involved with team travel for games is way too much. Non MLS DA clubs are also expensive. I agree that much of the cost and time involved with these leagues are not necessary. So much could be done on a local level.
I agree that the structure of these leagues are hurting the sport.

personally don't care if you agree since you are speaking from the outside. I've now been on both sides and can speak more truthfully..

Yes there are plenty of good teams in certain age groups at all those clubs you mention but not across the entire club. Plus part of ECNL are the showcases where there are college coaches scouting.
