Either your kid didn’t make the team or you’re just an ***** that likes to criticize kids.

Now now lets not get that low ! ECNL might be just what everyone needs long term the DA will go away if the MLS teams pull out next year they tried this year ! Inhale and rethink this I am happy that someone has taken this on for boys its about time so lets support them for once .... US Soccer and its love for MLS DA is killing the youth sports !

                Makes No Sense in FL

Why do kids need to travel to GA TN AL to find competition when their are plenty of very well trained and competitive teams in the South. Tropical Soccer, Weston, PSG, Kendall to just name a few. This is purely a money gimmick, a label! If parents smarten up and raise this even to their current ECNL coaches, it brings a good point. Why not try ECNL against top five state cup teams - they would be demolished. It would be an utter embarrassment. Meanwhile the parents say to themselves what terrific training they are getting. Let’s not question the training and try to face off southern teams. Smack every team in FL, and then venture out of state. How absurd that Miramar is traveling 15 hours when they could travel 15 minutes.

Stop. The DA won't go away, even if the MLS clubs pullout. From a cost and time standpoint, the MLS clubs cannot leave the DA. It is possible to move towards the tier system, as the DA has done for the U19 this season, and maybe the 17's down the road, but the cost and time associated with team travel is very high, and the majority of the MLS clubs cannot afford to do it with their younger teams. Should be interesting to hear what the MLS clubs thought of the cost for U19 travel this season. Things become real after getting the bill and see that money empty from the budget.

The boys ECNL is a better organized league than the USYS leagues. USYS regional and national leagues are poorly run. In both cases, ECNL or USYS, the cost is way too high and time involved with team travel for games is way too much. Non MLS DA clubs are also expensive. I agree that much of the cost and time involved with these leagues are not necessary. So much could be done on a local level.

I agree that the structure of these leagues are hurting the sport.

we were on a non ECNL team last year, one of the top 3 in the state, went to an ECNL team this year and there is seriously no comparison in regards to the competition. we also kidded ourselves for a few years as our son was getting older that ECNL was no different...wrong... in addition, if your kid has any desire to play soccer in college, ECNL will make that more of a likelihood than non ECNL.
personally don't care if you agree since you are speaking from the outside. I've now been on both sides and can speak more truthfully..

They don't need to travel to GA TN and AL to find competition but do need to go there to find better competition. Across entire clubs. It's not like the FL teams in ECNL are finishing 1-7 in ECNL. More often than not in the 8-14 range. The GA clubs are REALLY good.

Yes there are plenty of good teams in certain age groups at all those clubs you mention but not across the entire club. Plus part of ECNL are the showcases where there are college coaches scouting.

I think there will be a Florida division for ECNL eventually. If Boys DA goes MLS only or even if it's a tier system why would the other boys DA teams not just move to ECNL and make a FL only division within ECNL. It would be fantastic competition and would save everyone on travel costs. Then again it probably makes too much sense so it will never happen. I'm in Jax so having to go up to ATL isn't too bad. We had to do the AL trip for one game though and that was ridiculous. The one thing about this year that is good is you only play the out of state teams once this season. So instead of 2 trips to ATL you have 1 and the 2 other teams from ATL have to come here. It's an improvement from last season.
