The kid who put the ball out to the wing, the kid on the wing that got to the ball and kept it in play and served it to the forward who took out the goalie and back tapped it to JM all should get the credit rather then JM who vultured the goal and hit a weak shot to an empty net that A U14 player could of scored on deserve, and I dont mean because they are bigger!

a great pass to a wide open shot that ends up in the parking lot

I really don’t think he cares that much. You shouldn’t either. How the team is faring is interesting. They should beat UML handily and then it’s on to conference play. Tough conference too. UCF. USF. Memphis. SMU. Tulsa. All good teams. Even Cincinnati is decent.

My U12 could make that shot with keeper on the floor. If not, I would make her shoot 100 shots in the backyard before she could eat dinner!

That Uconn highlight video showed a lot of Uconn goalie saves. Makes me think it could have been a lot worse if not for some quality saves by her.

The box scores are awful. Some give details (type of shot, etc.), but most don't. And agree, stats don't always tell the story. But, it's how some kids get accolades though (all league rosters, etc.).

Would you rather your team have high shots or high shots on goal (for instance, Stanford was just beaten 1-0 with only 1 SOG, but it was the only one that mattered)?

You get the sanity post award. Agreed. Be happy for any kid that is getting an opportunity to continue her dream by playing college soccer. Not everyone gets the chance. Life isn't defined by soccer. It's defined by character. Some on this may not get that lesson.
