Clubs losing identity to leagues. Remember when?

Since when do leagues start to take all the credit of success?

Since when do people think their quality is based off of an acronym after the club name?

Since when does any league actually do anything other then schedule games?

Clubs are selling their credibility and ID for leagues.


Thusc is in shambles and lost everything because they wanted Ecnl acronym

Fc Portland has been mediocre for past 10 years but they can now hide it with an acronym

All the boys clubs are now referring to themselves as DA when they are still the same teams coaches and competition

no one likes the thorns academy even the alliance clubs because of the self proclaimed best by league association.

Timbers academy is making more enemies then friends it seems. The quality is questionable.

Remember 10 years ago when accountability was through and through the Entire state and if you were good it was because you proved it against all the other teams in state before you played outside of it?

Remember when you didn't have to fly to NY to play a team that is worse then 5 teams up to 1 hr drive because you had to hide in a league to protect your self proclaimed propaganda.

Remember when you didn't have to use smoke and mirrors to sell your league because your team or soccer spoke for themselves?

Remember when we all knew who actually was the best instead of clubs affiliated with three different leagues claim they are the best be default but still scared crapless to play a team 10 minutes away for fear of it all coming to light?

Remember when thusc or crossfire now didn't have to lie to tournaments to avoid playing competition they knew would hold them accountable for all the lies they tell?

Put all the clubs including thorns and Timbers into the same league and they can't use Politics or propaganda to claim players from other clubs. Or hide by association.

You'd see that it's all bs.

The top clubs on the girls side was FC Portland, THUSC, and LO. There is a big drop off after those 3. THUSC and LO merged to be Crossfire Oregon. Crossfire Oregon and FC Portland play each other in ECNL conference. What is the point of playing the other crap teams in Oregon. Same reason why OPL was started.

On the boy's side, it is the Timber's academy. There are good players outside of the academy, but it is diluted so is a "B" league.

This would have slightly more credibility (as opposed to none at all) if you knew the difference between "Crossfire Oregon" and "Crossfire United".

Thusc was once a pretty good club. Competitive teams at most all age groups with a few teams that were above average for the state. Much better then fc who felt content to underdeveloped and sell propaganda of UP etc.

Once the people in charge at thusc decided to sell their soul for an acronym and acceptance into a league it went down hill from there.

Team quality started to drop rapidly. Coaches stopped caring about the players because they overloaded rosters for the money and security. Thusc is a joke now.

Literally everything that tom built is now a skeleton of what it once was.

Sounds just like the OPL of ole with airplane tickets required now, vs walking across the cul-de-sac to get a game. Truly mind boggling.
