What about all of those scholarship offers that GS has out to 8th, 9th, 10th graders? Do they all stand or can the school say sorry, all bets are off? Just curious how that works? School is not bound to honor those, now that he is out, are they?

Nothing is bound until signing day of their senior year. Neither side is bound and the players who have committed may not like the new coach, and vice versa. However, girls soccer is not like men's football where you might see a huge amount of change in the recruiting class. In women's soccer, you might not see any changes. Not sure how many changes to the 2018 or 2019 classes there may be. If they hire a head coach from another school, some of those committs may come over. I doubt many would chage for the 2018 class because those players are likely focusing on applying to their committed school right now. It's likely that they will want to make the hire fairly soon because you have Surf cup coming up at Thanksgiving, and the ECNL showcase in December

Would think 2018’s are ok. After that probably a little dicey.

Well, he now has his Thanksgiving weekend free. That's one way to look at it.

NOTHING is guaranteed until NLI signing day. I would be looking elsewhere if I were a 2018. Also those players currently at Portland are on the hot seat

Perhaps Mertz applies for the portland job because the axe falls next year!!!!

Lauren Hansen is the lead candidate for the Portland job. Hers to turn down.
