If there had been a large turnout at FCP's ENCL tryout yesterday, this board would have been lit up with multiple postings of exaggerated numbers.
Crossfire United up next with tryouts on the 24th, the first of four days for them.
Maybe some FCP players are considering their options.

Timbers Alliance players' boycott of Oregon ECNL will continue.
Their best players have already left for Seattle ECNL clubs.

My apologies. Original post didn't specify. I stand corrected. But, I guess my question still remains. Is the amount of attendees alone indicative of anything. Players attend multiple try outs. Others receive personal invitations and never attend the formal try outs. So numbers could get skewed and in the end, mean much of nothing. Just MHO.

Ecnl car sales parents are driving many away from what I'm hearing from people on the fence. Thorns academy will pull players with their focus to develop but that's only one age group.

No one really believes that doing Ecnl will make you SoCal blues and the same coaches including the bad fc Portland coaches who just recruit are making it tough for people to want to pay out for garbage wrapped in a gold wrapping.

Crossfire should be stronger at most age groups as they are drawing from two teams.
The best answer is: no one knows. Not me, you or anyone that gives a lengthy discourse in an attempt to illustrate that they know. Check back in a year or two. Only time will give us the answer.

You are right, boycotting is such a strong word. Showing indifference to mediocrity would be more appropriate.

Which does a world of good to the U16 and older players. Perhaps that is why so many at these age groups will stay away.

It's going to be tough sledding going through and ECNL season with 12 players.
Nahh, most have moved on from this nonsense board. Your an afterthought to them. Only people left on this board are the few TA parents still upset that their club(s) are on a downward death spiral.

Because this is the first year for ECNL, it might make sense for those in the older groups to not participate. Especially those nearing graduating and/or near college. ECNL at this point may not provide them with a tangible benefit. The older Players may already have had all the exposure they needed and are well on their to college soccer.

Once ECNL has been established for a number of years many more will benefit. Those Who are U14 and U15 will be the benchmark

Spoken like a true FCP parent. So, how were the numbers? Don't be shy. You can say there were 15-20 girls at each age group.

Reports are that the numbers were low. Really poor turnout.

But extremely high quality. They'll be fine.

ECNL - Oregon doesnt have enough talent or interest

Oregon does not have enough talent or interest to support 2 ECNL teams. The inability of FC/THUSC/Crossfire to realize this and join forces to form ONE ECNL club could cause the whole concept to fail. We may have ECNL teams but for most age groups Oregon will not be competitive. There is nothing worse than practicing 3-4 days a week, travelling out of state, paying thousands of dollars and getting your butt kicked. This will be very interesting to watch.

Extremely high quality. That must mean the Navy players came out and the White team players didn't.
