    There are no elite clubs in Oregon.

      No, there are. You're just too pig headed to admit your DD's not at one of them.

        My DD plays in Seattle. We would love to find a high level opportunity in Oregon where she could play WITH the best and against the best. The talent in Oregon is diluted too thin.

          So why do you drive all the way to Seattle to play on a "B" team then? Lots of those right here in Portland. Just look up "Timbers Alliance" in Google.

            Because that team is truly elite. You could actually put a B team label on it and it wouldn't take the fact that we are a top 10 team in the nation. We also beat both Oregon teams by huge margins. Don't get me wrong there are some great players on the Oregon teams but not enough to compete against the truly elite.

              Well, if the poster says there are no elite teams in Oregon, aren't they admitting that their daughter isn't on an elite team?

                When it comes to getting lots of playing time, and lots of exposure to college coaches, sometimes it's better to be the best player on an average team in the ECNL than to be an average player on the best team...

                  what do all of you care if BSC (or any other non FC/THUSC/Crossfire team) want to stay together? it doesn't hurt you, it only hurts them, and gives your kid more of a shot on the ECNL roster when there are less kids competing for the spots. If those BSC kids want to stay together let them, they can go down the path to no where

                    Sure, go ahead and try. Never happens that way though. The top players always leave, sooner or later. The parents won't tell you beforehand, either.

                      well that part is true, even if they promise to tell you if they are leaving they are liars and won't

                        What is the end game for ECNL anyway.

                          Agreed, there is a history of kids leaving clubs to go to FCP or THUSC but that is generally because those teams are struggling to compete and FCP/THUSC are stronger, so the stronger, more competitive players want to be a part of that. However,that's not the case here, bsc is ever bit as good in U12 and 13 as FCP and THUSC, so it will be interesting to see if they can hang on to their talent past U14.

                            It won't be that interesting. It's never happened before. Won't happen with this group either.

                              Basically, better players through better training and better competition.

                              MISSION: The Elite Clubs National League, Inc. (“ECNL”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit member-based organization founded in 2009 to enhance the developmental experience of the female youth soccer players in the United States through:
                              •Improving the competitive environment through creation of a true national competitive league with multiple flights;
                              •Improving the process for identifying elite female soccer players for the U.S. Soccer youth national teams through a systematic scouting and identification program based on national competitions; and
                              •Improving the daily training environment at top female youth soccer clubs through developing best practices and training and organizational guidelines for its member clubs.

                              GOAL: The goal of the Elite Clubs National League is to change the landscape for elite female soccer players in the United States through innovative, player-centered programming and to enhance the overall experience by creating a better, more enjoyable, and more successful player, coach, and club development model.

                              IMPLEMENTATION: The ECNL is led by a Board of Directors elected by the member clubs. Day-to-day operations are managed by the ECNL Commissioner. The ECNL has four primary platforms:
                              1.The Competition Platform;
                              2.The Player Identification Platform;
                              3.The Club and Coach Development Platform, and
                              4.The H.E.R. Platform (a female-specific "Health & Education Resources" Platform).

                                So if you have a mid level player and hope to get her recruited by east coast teams then spending the money on encl makes sense.

                                If you are a very attractive girl, you will have a line of suitors fighting for your attention just doing your thing.

                                If you are mid-level relatively attractive girl, put on the mini skirt, make up and heels and head off to the night club (ECNL). Cast your net wide and you will increase your odds to find a suitor.

                                Makes sense.
