Originally posted by Unregistered View PostNormally it does start a week earlier. Everything is later this year because of when schools started and Thanksgiving being a week later. Also keep in mind this cold snap is very unusual for this time of year. The only way to make it earlier is to eliminate regular season games. Many teams won't ever qualify for states so you're cutting their season short

Boys could not kick the ball as their feet were frozen. Game was stopped because boy got smashed by the ball(rock hard) he’s out for next game with a concussion. State tournament should start earlier.
Start the preseason earlier. Start games a week earlier. Play 14 game schedule. No league playoffs. Start state’s earlier. Have an open state title that ANY school can enter to get a TRUE champ. If you think your school is the best enter with the big boys and girls.

Soft parents complain about cold weather.
IF YOU ARE COLD, YOU DID NOT DRESS PROPERLY.
Weather is the same for both teams. Deal with it. Playing at temperatures in the 20’s is not dangerous. Plus, schools could choose to play at 2:00 pm. While not really warmer, sun was bright and helped. School chose to play at night to try and get better community support from students and fans, or had other school teams on the turf.
