Stupid post. No student or athlete that is a realistic target for UVA will be looking at SHU.

But it’s cheap! Of course academic money is limited because of that and the average cost after discount and merit is similar to the FU’s, QU’s and SHU’s of the world. But yeah, every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Maybe three times on Sunday. Fool.
Looks like you read a page from frommer's college handbook circa 1985. What a jerk you must be

Not the OP, but what part of what they said isn’t true? The buildings are not very new or nice. Storrs is Hicksville. Their main sports play at the XL Center and Rentschler, which are great but a half hour from campus. They don’t give much academic or merit money. And the after discount cost is not much less than those other schools. Great for some people but let’s call it as it is and take off the rose colored glasses.

If you're looking for a big state school with big sports, UCONN doesn't really deliver the way say U Michigan can. UCONN isn't the academic safety it used to be because more are applying for the in state price. In order to keep the out/in state balance, some top out of state applicants are offered a match to their home state tuitions.

Did anyone think that Uconn delivered the way UM can? Seriously, Captain obvious?

They don’t deliver in that regard to literally almost all of the other big state schools in the country.

Agree with much of this. But who's on here telling people SHU is much better? What the hell is so great about where that school is? It's in suburban Bridgeport for crying out loud. Plus, no one outside of a very small pocket in CT, NY, MA has ever heard of Sacred Heart. All things considered, I don't want my kid going to either one, but if she was choosing, not sure SHU beats UConn.
