Plus, with the huge number of kids they have, the college recruit number percentage wise is REALLY dismal, yet that's all you hear from people at TBU.

Hopefully, people will start realizing that they are not what they would have you believe they are.
These comments like "these parents have really drank the Koolaid at TBU" and "Hopefully, people will start realizing that they are not what they would have you believe they are." are really arrogant. What makes you think you know so much about youth and college soccer - and TBU parents don't?

These parents on the sidelines are successful small business owners, doctors, lawyers, sports therapists, teachers, hosptial administrators, etc. - many that played sports in college (including soccer). The Dad I watch most games with is an orthopedic surgeon who played soccer in Europe - he knows a little bit about the game. These TBU parents are not dillusional or clueless about the youth soccer options in the Tampa Bay region. If anything they are rational realists and they have looked at all the options - including the one you chose - and decided that TBU represents the better option.

Very arrogant of you to repeatedly point out that they are getting fooled somehow by TBU!

So what is your excuse? If you have a third of the players to manage and develop as a club at WFF. Why do you still suck?

TBU on it's worst day will still beat all of your GDA teams.

Very arrogant of you not to recognize any of the blue collar parents on your sidelines. You probably think they’re there for the sole purpose of picking up your trash when you leave. It’s this exact elitist attitude of TBU that fuels their reputation across the state as the most pompous club in Florida.

Well with all you "smart people" why can't you figure out that there is something really broken at TBU? sheesh. Typical TBU response and exactly portrays the issues over there

It doesn’t matter how many teams deep are below the ECNL team. 98% of college recruiting happens at the ECNL (and DA) level so this argument about what percentage of TBU kids as a whole is meaningless. Colleges are not actively recruiting at CDL, FSPL etc levels. They just don’t have the time and resources.

Right now at the ECNL level, 90% of 00s, 80% of 01s and 60% of 02s are committed. That’s the percentage that you need to focus on.

Don’t act like you did it. I’m sure you had one of the blue collars that you purposely omitted the first time take care of it so you can feel better about yourself. Congrats, now back to your day drinking and pate.

Notice how every single time the TBU parents completely ignore the topic which is the poor record of their ECNL Programs?
                    It’s really hilarious! 😆

Still too elitist, which figures. Try DMV receptionists, Garbage collectors, public restroom janitors, prostitutes, tbu handjob specialists, fluffers, x rated arcade moppers, retirement home bed pan cleaner and sponge bathers, etc...

Seems like the TBU people only care about getting their kid into college.
They're supposed to have teams in the elite programs like ECNL and theoretically they should be 2 or 3 teams deep in all age groups where kids could be interchanged without degradation but it's obvious that they don't. They have the numbers, just very little development. Their reputation for not caring about teams except for their top teams seems to ring true here.

                          1. I guess they don't realize that 98% of the kids play for other reasons and don't desire to play in college
                          2. Many kids "could" play in college but elect not to in lieu of studies
                          3. Very few kids actually get scholarships in the big scheme of things
                          4. Even fewer kids are able to keep their scholarships for 4 years
                          5. Many of the scholarships are low dollar amounts, yet they tout a "commitment"

If the previous posters are fine with having teams in elite leagues that are doing poorly that is a cop out.

TBU by now should a least 1 team in all age groups that can compete at the national level, yet they are not even competitive with teams regionally.

                          How is this acceptable?

Florida is way behind. Has been for a very long time. Nothing changes. Clubs get bigger and bigger with people thinking that's the answer. Obviously it isn't.

The same leadership in Florida moves around from club to club or has been in positions for a long time. Very few new and qualified coaches and leadership have entered the state for a long time (and when they do they leave quickly), yet the teams put on the field are pretty much the same non-competitive product.

Maybe all you "smart people" can now do the math.

Snarky comments filled with denial in 3......2.......1

Who will be the first to say "I don't care because my kid is committed to college"?! Save it please

Not sure what the percentage is now with GDA and ECNL since there has been only one full year with both. But nationally over 90 percent of kids that were playing ECNL when it was the premiere league went on to play in college. So TBU is on par with that. With over 1000 college soccer programs a kid playing at that level should be able to find a school they could play at. Sometimes that means having to pay, but for most TBU parents that is not an issue.

There is a lot of misinformation in these "alternative facts". I will not take the time to set each of these straight but each one of these, at best, is "mis-informed" and in reality, is "flat-out wrong." Or to say it, politely, none of these match our kid's experience.
