The current season is a rare one as 7 out of 8 Ivies have been ranked in the top 100 RPI.

Ivies are at major disadvantage with a shorter preseason and spring season, kids train much less, no scholarships, less games (no conference tourney) ect ect
of course they should be competing with any P5 that does not have a half decent education to offer. There are so few top level players that once you move beyond 10 schools the rest are pretty interchangeable. Talent is still in short supply. An Ivy education will appeal to enough talented players to beat the kind of schools listed above.

They should absolutely be able to compete. The difference now is that the league has some very good and hard working coaches. KM, SD, CH, TB. Even the bottom teams have improved. Some disadvantages for sure, but built in advantages as well. Who wouldn’t go if they could get in and it was affordable? Like shooting fish in a barrel.
the kids that can go to Duke, UVA, UNC, Stanford, UCLA, USC and a few others on the back of soccer ability usually want better soccer than any Ivy can offer so they will pass. Those schools would beat a Brown 9 times out of 10. I think outside of the top soccer schools, an Ivy can compete if one or 2 kids happen to prioritize education.

Has your kid taken an SAT before selling this idea? The coach gets 2 kids (1200) under the balloon. The rest need 1500 just to sit down. BTW, the academics are no joke to manage. Ivies do give the best financial packages for sure. I've seen a few kids not manage it well and struggle mightily. You want your kid to have the right fit and enjoy their college years. It's not about you Mom or Dad.

Harvard got 3 from Top 10 from 2020 class...no path to $ in women's soccer so if you can get a top education, why not? Tyler Lussi (Princeton) and others from Ivy league playing pro after school.

Brown ranked 18th in this week's poll. Impressive. Only other team in top 20 from this area is Rutgers.

Some of those top players from top teams wouldn't get admitted to Ivies. A true top student and top player isn't common. Those schools have tough admissions standards but not as much as Ivies, plus there's more give with D1.

the arrogance never ceases to amaze me. you don't play soccer. you lump it, hope for a set piece and then sit back and defend. It's almost like watching a high school game. Williams will have their way with you on Saturday. Good Luck.

CCSU had chances against West Virginia....gave up a cheap goal in extra time. CCSU should be proud. Terrific year.
