Toros can actually beat most of the DA academy teams, if not all.

Of the final four teams, two of them are going development academy next year. That leaves Fire and Toros for next season

Fire are in the unique situation of being too far geographically from any of the DA's to lose any of their players. Will the toros stay intact?

Put the weed down. They might be able to hang with 1 or 2 of the u14 da teams, but otherwise they would get thumped.

Similar situation for FC Florida. Picking up a bunch of players. Had one thin team this year. Definitely enough for two teams now.

No such thing as a U14 DA team. The closest would be a '99 team with both U14 and U15. Or a '00 team with U14 and U13.

This coming August U14 DA teams will begin playing. Try outs for most of them have already taken place and it definitely changes the makeup of many teams going forward as many rising U15s will lose their top 99s and many rising U14s will lose their top 99 and 00 players.

CG is a great team, but they would struggle against the U 14 academy teams being formed now.

                    Weston 99/00 Academy

Are Weston keeping all their 00's together for the new U13/14 Academy or mixing it up ? Nice little team who may get hit a bit this year but be major strength in 2014/2015 season.

Only 2 or 3 of the current 00s will be broght up to play on the 99 DA team. The rest will play 00 Preacademy on a team that with new additions will be solid.

especially since a few of the U14 pre-academy teams last year were actually mostly U13 teams playing up in FPL, SEPAL. They will be U14 academy this year playing in age and have a tremendous advantage over the U13 teams that essentially played D2 schedules last year.

All of this DA confidence just seems silly. It makes people feel better when the writing big checks. Our FC Florida u18 team shouldn't of had a chance against the professional New York Red Bulls, but they still tied them to 2-2 in an aggressively played match. A week later, two of our boys signed pro contracts with the red bulls. No DA at FC Florida, no problem.

To say the Toros would struggle against a first year DA team is just stupid. When the Academy system results in the US actually qualifying for the Olympics, or the US u20 team qualifying for the World Cup, them I will pay attention. Until then, the DA system is not credible.

Development is about the level of training. The easiest way to ensure the most advanced level of training possible is to play where other top kids play. Right now that is DA - the other leagues will be drained of talent and resemble D2 more than D1. Doesnt mean there are not other routes to success, its just in my opinion that going regular club route is going to be more difficult. You have the one "Red Bulls" game at 18 to make an impression instead of a dozen Academy league games during the year...

In other words they will play on true age this year? I'm guessing true age verification starts at the academy level.
