If MG is leaving that is a major loss. His kids play extremely well, he practices pretty much every day, allows kids (including girls) to guest at practices, and will scrimmage any other TBU team anytime anywhere.

Say what you will about complaining to refs, that is an asset of a coach.

Is he leaving or was he pushed?

Over the last five years how many of the boys SC titles have come from the big 3 and how many have come from the smaller clubs. Except U19s and U18s when the teams were falling apart because of some memebers moving on to college. The big 3 are able to pool left overs together. Other than that the SC tally is the same. Rangers may have put the small clubs ahead if I am missing on. Maybe not up and down a club, but there is always a boys team at each age at a different small club that is challenge to be the best in the state. WP as a whole is nothing great. If the kids like him and like playing for him, 100% agree they should follow. Number of boys in this area going on to play soccer in college is very small. Save the money and let the kids enjoy. TBU DA and most of the boys teams are very weak. Don't see a difference in the small clubs and TBU boys teams. Girls, different story

We are at TBU and are sad to see him go, anyway you look at it this is a big loss for the club. Like the other poster said he is always willing to scrimmage even if your team is not at the same level. He has given many of the teams at Waters the chance to improve themselves by playing his very good team. As for his demeanor, he speaks his mind and I usually have to chuckle and agree. He just might not be the guy for every cream puff.

Typical daddy coach that won't let grip go of his kid. It will hurt in long run as competition will be awful playing USA league or something.

Clueless response. He'll play in CDL, not USA, just like at TBU. His team will also play FSPL, just like it would at TBU. The only thing not available is NPL, which is really not much different than CDL-- at least locally. They will have the exact same access to tournaments that they had at TBU. So the level of competition will be identical to what they played when at TBU. That is unless his kid was going DA, in which case he should try out for the Chargers who don't lose every single game.

CDL yes so a push there. FSPL not likely since TBU owns the team code and the associated ranking. A significant portion of the existing roster would have to move for WP to petition FYSA to transfer the team code from TBU to WP. You will find access to high level tournaments won't be as with TBU. Simple economics; TBU history brings more teams and quality to tournaments so they get in. WP... not so much.

Sounds like you are trying to convince yourself more than anything.

TBU's history is not that long. It's not like we are talking about the Chargers or Weston. Or the cache of Orlando City.

agreed, but still infinitely better than West Pasco at this point in time.

It is definitely much larger. On the girls side, there is no comparison. On the boys side, they are very competitive with each others teams at the u15 and under. WP loses the older players to attrition and CC's DA program.

Cdl, USA, same level. This guy is a fool and we have seen it many times before. Any parent that follows him is even more of a moron.

So what level is TBU playing that is higher? I see their teams in CDL and USA. His team currently plays in CDL. They just pay higher fees for the privilege.

He's not taking DA kids with him. And those kids should have tried out for CC anyway.

Good riddance to any parent coach who hogs players and won't let them move off to the competitive teams on the club. I'm surprised how much TBU lets this practice go ... and this is where TBU fails miserably. Instead of funneling the kids to the competitive teams they let the parents hog the players waaaay longer than they should. Good players players playing for daddy coaches in TARSA, ****ty tournaments, etc. just cause they joined the team out of rec and had some success in some crappy ass tournaments.

TBU needs to pull the plug on that **** already, scout their own players playing on daddy coached teams, educate the parents and move them to competitive teams starting at younger ages.
